It’s physics. The result of two objects of this mass, under these conditions, and coming together with this force will result in what we see.Pretty silly that people are arguing about whether Schenn's feet were on the ice at impact, etc. That's not the point. The point is, was his momentum directed upwards prior to or after his horizontal momentum is transferred by impact? It's similar to questions about elbowing (was the arm in motion relative to the body before or after impact)?
I don't think there's any question in this case what Schenn is doing - he's moving upward going into the hit - he's launching himself into the hit. It does not matter that one skate is on tippy toes when contact is first made.
Combine that with where on the ice the hit is made (2-3' from the boards), and it's a hit I don't like. If that's a non-suspendable hit, I've got to have a major psychopath on my bench as a deterrent. The way I see it it's a choice - does the NHL want to be that kind of league or not?
4 what? Are we making up penalties now? He'll get nothing because the social media whiners don't care about Stl and Winni.
Ekblad would have gotten 4 for that hit.
Considering Ek got suspended 2 games for a lesser hit, yes.4 what? Are we making up penalties now?
Looks a lot like the Ekblad hit to me. Right to the head, leaves his feet, Scheifele is hurt. How many games?
It's sad that leaving your feet before contact (to any point of the body) has been normalized. That's a charge. That’s a good hit. Shouldn’t have even been 2.
Yup, from various angles you can see Mark briefly deflected the puck, into blues player body, then was hit, but Scheen clearly jumped into that hit and left his feet before contact which is charging imo. We’ll see what if anything the league says, I doubt they do anything just bc they’ve let other questionable hits go in this playoffs already without additional punishment. That’s type of dirty hit that hurts someone or leads to a retaliation hit that hurts someone. This playoffs league wide imo has been the worst I’ve seen in a long time with refs and league letting dirty and dangerous stuff go unpunished. The fact the refs didn’t even review that hit at the time to make sure they got the call right is insane, no harm in a review but they refused. It's sad that leaving your feet before contact (to any point of the body) has been normalized. That's a charge.
He's been suspended before.Schenn has jumped through hits his whole career. They won’t start suspending now
