Schenn hit on Scheifele

It was a penalty so you can't say it was clean, but didn't look terrible to me
Hope Scheif isn't injured though

Watch again, Schenn's left skate leaves the ice before impact. He is posturing his body for upward momentum as he's trying to inflict maximum damage to the bigger Scheifele, but the skate is very clearly off the ice before impact on the replays that I saw.
It's close, but Schenn's right foot is on the ice at impact.

I do not think it's interference, looks to me Scheifele played the puck right before he got hit.

It is a pretty clear charging though, Schenn jumps into this hit.

Scheifele is out of the game.

He was rocked a 2nd time after he played another period. he's not out from this hit.
Didn’t have or touch the puck, so clear interference but if it’s anything more TBD. He’s out injured for at least the rest of the game and we’ll see how long over the next day or so.

Video shows he literally played the puck.
Predatory, leaves his feet, Scheifs didn't have possession of the puck.

I love huge hard hits, but I'm not a fan of the predatory hits where you lay a guy the f*** out just because you notice he's in a vulnerable position.

Feet are literally on the ice at point of contact

So your argument is that one skate is off the ice and you think that some how gives him an advantage instead of actually putting him off balance?

Watch the replay, feet on the ice when contact is made.
Sometimes it's hard to tell, but it's so obvious that he leaves his feet before/while he makes contact.

He leapt into him. Dirty, dirty hit.

How can you leap into a hit when the video shows feet on the ice when contact is made?

Pretty silly that people are arguing about whether Schenn's feet were on the ice at impact, etc. That's not the point. The point is, was his momentum directed upwards prior to or after his horizontal momentum is transferred by impact? It's similar to questions about elbowing (was the arm in motion relative to the body before or after impact)?

I don't think there's any question in this case what Schenn is doing - he's moving upward going into the hit - he's launching himself into the hit. It does not matter that one skate is on tippy toes when contact is first made.

Combine that with where on the ice the hit is made (2-3' from the boards), and it's a hit I don't like. If that's a non-suspendable hit, I've got to have a major psychopath on my bench as a deterrent. The way I see it it's a choice - does the NHL want to be that kind of league or not?

Looks a lot like the Ekblad hit to me. Right to the head, leaves his feet, Scheifele is hurt. How many games?

Not like the Ekblad hit. Even the announcers in your posted video say it wasn’t head contact. The Ekblad hit targeted the head. This did not.
