Scheifele's Dad has Passed Away

My dad died when I was 36. I couldn’t imagine losing him any earlier.

There’s two type of people. Those that work through everything and those who need time off to process. I learned I am in the need time off to process camp because I couldn’t work for months afterwards. I didn’t read the rest of the messages before posting but anyone who’s thinking of criticizing him for missing games needs to pause and rethink life.

It sucks all around. I hope he takes all the time he needs and find his peace.
I'm sorry for your loss. You're exactly right. Not everyone copes the same way. Ultimately, if he feels he needs to step away, nobody should ever knock that.

Man, such a genuine display of sympathy by Dallas at the end for a guy who was suffering. 😭
Scheifele just had one of the hardest days he will ever have and they muted their joy out of respect.
Sounds like the Stars owner flew Scheifele direct after the game. There’s a lot to love how the Stars players, fans and team reacted to this whole thing.

Much respect.

I lost my dad 24 years ago still think about him every day. My heart goes out to the Scheifele family, I'm sure Mark wanted to play for his dad that's why he's the captain of the Jets. To all of you who still have their dad go hug them. Hugs!
Lowry is the Jets Captain. But I get what your saying.
