Scheifele's Dad has Passed Away

I feel like the camera panned to the Scheifele family at a Jets' home game this series, it seemed like just another day in the playoffs for them. This happened to Laine just after his trade from Winnipeg in 2021, and it hit Josh Morrissey really hard when his father passed in 2021. This is a really tight group, I hope they can guide Mark through the darkness.

Whatever decision he makes, it will haunt him forever, what a terrible position to be in

I don't think so. He either plays for his dad and leaves it all on the line and heads back to his family tonight or he heads to be with his family today and he trusts the boys to take up the mantle in his absence. There are no regrets when it comes to something like this. Only Mark can make the decision and whatever decision he makes win or lose is the right one for him. I fully support him either way.

That’s sad.
How would you consider playing unless you Absolutely had something to prove and knew you could manage yourself.
I wouldn’t fault him for sitting it out.

Leaf fan wishing Mark and his family all the best. He needs to do what is best for him. I hope he is afforded that choice.

As a hockey coach and hockey Dad, my boy knows I would want to him to play.
