The Flames had 17 back-to-backs last season. 9 is nothing.

Yeah, 9 is close to least in the league IIRC--will find the chart later, but i think it also had us at 14 back-to-backs last year. It also accounted for 'rested' vs. 'tired' which was interesting. No surprise we had brutal schedule the last few years, we came back around with a comparatively soft schedule this year. As long as we don't do our yearly turn-of-the-year dickaround, we should be okay, despite lots of time on the road late in the season.

9 is league-lowest this season.

@jkreiser77nhl: #LAKings and #NHLJets have fewest back-to-backs in '14-15 (9). Buffalo and Columbus have #NHL-high 19.

19!!

Very favorable schedule for the Kings next season. Least amount of back-to-backs, not among the top 6 teams as far as travel miles. Two long stretches of games where they stay in the west. With victory comes the spoils.

Wow! I don't know why 9 seemed so high to me at first, but 19 is ridiculous. That's practically a quarter of the season!

January.

Whether the Kings have home ice in the first round of the 2015 playoffs will come down to avoiding the January swoon. The schedule has redoubled this already-true factor:

From January 3rd through January 28th, the Kings play 9 games (in 26 days), eight of which are at home, and NONE of which are outside the state, much less the time zone.

That's not the kind of stretch a champion team can sleepwalk through and still come out with home ice when things start mattering in April.

That's my analysis, at least.

I agree.

Also, the first 20 games (13 of which are at home), they need 25-30 points in that stretch.

It will be interesting to see if we have a Cup hangover without the long lockout break this year.

when do we hear about the give aways? I want my Stanley Cup Ring :)

Oh hell yes. And the mini banner on banner night. I mean I also want to watch a good hockey game...
