Series Talk: SCFs Discussion - Looking To Play Spoilers AGAIN - Panthers Tied 0-0

i really hope bob taps into that '23 ECF performance he had
Its funny how bad weve been on the road.
Weve lost two on the road and 3 at home. Whats odd is every loss weve looked f***ing terrible in, not really a game we looked better in and lost, except maybe game 2 vs toronto but we still gave up 40 billion breakaways.

I think weve scored one whole ass pp goal at home in like 15 attempts and are at least 25-30% on the road. I dont get it.

Anyway i hope we keep up our road warrior game cause were gonna need it, for whatever reason home ice mattered in the finals last year and we had it. Only won 1 on the road and lost the other 2.

With how badly the Kings and Dallas looked, im not that impressed but Vegas was still a good team and they lost in 5 (close games). For the most part we took care of business in dominating fashion but we tend to take entire games off - a la blow out or get blown out type games.

Oilers look better than last year, offensive depth and defensive depth wise. I still think Skinner is a bad goalie but hes capable of stealing a game somehow.
Dont think they ran into a team like ours this season, and i do believe we are better than last years team.
Brad>tarasenko
Jones>Montour '24

3rd pairing depth still pretty good, our 4th line is much better, and brad on the 3rd has made that line an absolute work horse offensively and still be just as good defensively. Tarasenko was good but skated liked a dead horse.

My only worry is that Swaggy and Reino are having down years offensively, with Swaggy recently finally waking up. Chucky is injured but honestly last year he wasnt that much of a factor, he has 5 goals to 6 goals last year. All he needs to do is park in front of the net, his hands still work.

Bobs been solid but i really havent seen any god mode games from him yet, hopefully he has some in the tank cause every finals he seems to shit the bed for at least 3 games.

I feel like the rest should help us, it did vs Tampa to start and weve virtually have had no rest between these series. Forsling seems to be dealin with something. Reino and Eetu seemed to be banged up and hopefully the week off helps

Just think of this, for a minute.

Oilers lose.

Leafs sign Bennett in the offseason. "Na na na na naaaaaa" we took Bennett from you!

Panthers sign McDavid in 2026 when the cap goes up even more.

Just imagine the faces, those beautiful, wonderful faces :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

What is sad is they will screenshot this, and actually think I am serious, and call us out for thinking we will get McDavid.

Twitter is unusable unless you’re a bot or crypto scammer. Bluesky isn’t perfect but comparing it to Truth Social is hilarious. For one there’s no requirement to pledge allegiance to dear leader.

Anyway, the similarities to the 2023 run are to strong not to notice. Road team the whole way, crushed the Canes, Eetu hurt.. this won’t be easy.
98% of all social media is a gong show, regardless of where your political leanings are. What people will say and do while being "anonymous" is atrocious nowadays, on all sides of the aisle.

Winning the Cup is never easy, it's not supposed to be.

For hockey being THE Canadian sport, you would think some these fans would be a bit more knowledgeable, and not result in insulting our fan base over and over and over. Search the thread over the coming days, and the most common used phrases from non-Panthers fans, will be:

Number of fans
taxes
We've heard this all before

Speaking to them is like trying to teach my 87 year old mother how to use Google maps on her iPhone

I wouldn't even suggest posting on the mains for this series. The Oilers fans will be so triggered that they will end up here anyways.

I am ready for them. I have a different standard than they will be allowing on the Mains. It is what it is.

Other fanbases hate them enough to still make it an interesting read between games.

Same exact narratives as last year. And that is the same exact team as last year for the most part. Bottom pairing and 4th line is different. No generational points runs for McDavid and Bouchard, no 94% PK either.

It will be a long closely contested series again.

We all know we can frustrate them. Just have to do it and show up every night.

All their fans bravado is just that.

As a Stars fan i can say:

Dallas was just bad. Stars was exactly same team that lost 8 before playoffs.
Oetinger and Rantanen just carried that team until they were both cooked.

I would not even be surprised if Panthers sweeps Oilers tho.
