The Hyman loss is huge for them. He was their leader in hits, and obviously top line winger.

McDavid is going to get his, we know that, we just need to limit him like we did last season. Last Finals, he got a good majority of his points when the games were out of hand. The games we won, we limited him. If we can do that again, we can win this series. We need to limit the odd man rushes our system tends to give up. We have the better depth, defense, and goaltending. We just dont have that instant game changer like 97.

Split the first two, and lets make this a long series, because we know that the longer a series goes, the better the Panthers get. Like coach says, pound the shit out of their D, until their is nothing left.

Agree that this won't be easy. On the one hand, I think we're a better team than we were last year, which is astounding to think about. However, I am worried about health: so many of our guys were in/out of the lineup over the last two series with injuries that I can definitely see comparisons to 2023. I feel like we powered through that Canes series through momentum and stubbornness after getting absolutely no rest after Toronto. Really hoping that a week off will make a difference.

I have to say that I haven't paid much attention to Edmonton but they too sound like they're a much better team this year as well. Draisalt is healthy which he wasn't last year, and I know they'll be missing Hyman but they've got Ekholm back. I still think we're a better overall team than they are but IMO it's how much more juice our team still has that will count.
