Series Talk: SCFs Discussion - All The Smoke Edition Part II - Panthers Tied 1-1

How often do you see players slipping and falling repeatedly in a game, and only at one end of the ice? Both games, it was the Oilers shoot twice end of the rink. You're telling me Edmonton suddenly can't figure out how to have a good ice surface at Rogers Place? And that they couldn't address it between the two games?

There's a lot of gamesmanship going on here, that is obvious. Edmonton taking a free timeout by refusing to put the right players out after the icing was bush league shit.

I'm not gonna harp on it much more, but I felt it was worth ranting about, since all I'm seeing today is insane levels of cope from Oilers fans about how hard they got f***ed by the refs last night (a game in which they had 6 power plays to Florida's 4).

Wasn’t their ice voted by players as the best, along with Winnipeg?

Gretzky mentioned that post game. They are going to have to adjust their game because their speed will be affected by our ice, meaning more dump and chase.

McDrai has played a lot of ice already. The longer this series goes, the more wear and tear tenet will be dealing with. We just need to keep playing our game, just be a bit more disciplined. Our chances will come, and in the end, we still have the best goalie in the series.
Drunk ass 9s also said how great their ice is. He was about to puke his guts out from alcohol poisoning.

Oilers always have the best ice in the league (voted by players) thats why I agree there was gamesmanship there, no other reason Panthers shoot twice side was so bad. Floridas ice is terrible but for both teams lol

It was the Oilers shoot twice side, (right side of the screen on the broadcast) which imo favors the skater who knows where he's going and not the skater who has to pivot and react to that guy.

- Verhaeghe casually got 3 assists in 2 games, lots of scoring chances created by playdriving & forechecking, Marchand almost scored OT winner much earlier after he annihilated Klingberg

- "he played pretty awful with the entire first line"

PDOcast guys were talking about the first line and the fact that barkov and verhaeghe missed on 50% of their shots last night. reino missed the net a ton, too - would have to say at least 50% missed shots. these guys are all great players who can contribute when they aren't scoring goals but i don't think that type of play is going to win you 4 of 7 when you're playing a team like the oilers. who know, maybe marchy, benny and our D will carry us the finish line? i would feel a lot better if our best shooters were actually getting their shots on net and giving themselves a chance to contribute, though.

I have played at the arena, now called Amearant Bank, several times.

I do not like the ice. I think that the ice is very brittle.

Hey all,

It’s pretty clear that Barky, Reino, Chucky, and maybe a few others are playing through something. I haven’t been following closely enough to know exactly what each guy is dealing with. Last I heard, Chucky might be dealing with a groin issue which would explain why he’s having trouble skating.

Anyone know if any of these are more minor injuries where the 3 day break might actually help? Just wondering if we could see any of them closer to full speed next game.

Unlikely. Pretty sure Tkachuk got his injury in the 4 nations. I don't think 3 days is going to do much good.

Not sure what is wrong with Barkov and Reinhart.

But you can tell the team isn't as healthy as last year. Forsling doesn't look quite right either.
