Series Talk: SCFs Discussion - All The Smoke Edition Part II - Panthers Tied 1-1

I don't think Marchand leaves. He is older and has earned enough. I think he is willing to stay and sign for less than the market value. It doesn't make sense for a 37 year old to jump from one team to another all the time. I can see Bennett to sign at Maple Leafs for gigantic money and replace Marner.

Marchand has been underpaid relative to his peers. He will be looking for one last big pay cheque at his age. I don't think we can feasibly afford him. I'm just enjoying the run he's having with us right now. I didn't think I would ever like Marchand this much.

If I am honest about it, I have a strong feeling that by game 4, the Panthers will be limping along with injuries, sort of the repeat when we faced Vegas, they all look injured and just getting by. Barkov, Reinhardt, Forsling, Katchuck, just too many good players injured.

He was willing to take his same salary in Boston for another 3 years on a team entering a full rebuild. If he wins I could see him taking 5.5 per to stay with us instead. Hopeful thinking perhaps, but we will see. I doubt if he wins, he will want to go anywhere else, just needs to get his family down here to lock it in IMO.

Bennett will be the first domino to fall, then we will see how much cap we are playing with.

I hate it, but that's the truth, and he's definitely earned the right to do what he wants. As a Bruins fan, I'm glad everyone here is enjoying rooting for the guy.

I've heard of blaming ice but what evidence is there to support it other than difficulty skating and bouncy puck. I'm talking deflate gate level

How often do you see players slipping and falling repeatedly in a game, and only at one end of the ice? Both games, it was the Oilers shoot twice end of the rink. You're telling me Edmonton suddenly can't figure out how to have a good ice surface at Rogers Place? And that they couldn't address it between the two games?

There's a lot of gamesmanship going on here, that is obvious. Edmonton taking a free timeout by refusing to put the right players out after the icing was bush league shit.

I'm not gonna harp on it much more, but I felt it was worth ranting about, since all I'm seeing today is insane levels of cope from Oilers fans about how hard they got f***ed by the refs last night (a game in which they had 6 power plays to Florida's 4).

Best part was when they showed Evander Kane on the bench while the refs were trying to figure out who needed to come back out, pretending like he had no f***ing clue what was going on.

Regarding Marchand, it really appears as if he is having a blast. Maybe even discovering the fountain of youth. Look at Perry, for example, bouncing from circus to circus desperately trying to grasp the gold ring and has become a curse.

Marchand's family will be coming down here for the next few games and the current roster's families will show them around. Our coastline, lifestyle and dollar value can be very enticing. From the brief clip of his Mom from last night's broadcast, she seems like a hoot.

Zito, with permission, can get creative without breaking the bank with an offer to Marchand pertaining to 'life after playing' within the organization. I'd be curious to know if Boston ever mentioned something like that to him.

Regarding Benny, I feel his deal is done and he's not going anywhere. He's home.

I mean, to be fair, our ice is pretty bad. At least that’s what I noticed against Toronto and Carolina games.

Gretzky mentioned that post game. They are going to have to adjust their game because their speed will be affected by our ice, meaning more dump and chase.

McDrai has played a lot of ice already. The longer this series goes, the more wear and tear tenet will be dealing with. We just need to keep playing our game, just be a bit more disciplined. Our chances will come, and in the end, we still have the best goalie in the series.
