The Oilers were clearly the better team in game 1. I know moral victories don't get you the cup, but they've shown that they can play with Florida. Some key players have to step up, but they can get this series back.

They have shown that they can play against Bobrovsky though. Literally only goal the scored was a bad bounce.

His team got embarrassed in the Finals last year. Their leadership being hungry and being able to stretch your dollars more with no state tax has been a boon for them this year.

Garbage officiating and Bob standing on his head last game looming large as well
That state tax theory has been blown out of the water. Zito didn’t have to lure anyone- they did it through trades and waivers. They have a strong analytics and management group. Oilers have Holland and his fingers

Thought Oilers had the extra gear in Game 1, but didn’t bury 5 star chances.
Damn that Game 1…
Tonight, seemed to be down a gear, even two.
Back home, see how it goes.
More pucks to the net. A goal is a goal, no extra credit for pretty ones.
It can be done. 👍🏻 Wishing for the bounce back, and getting…some bounces.

Even if it has, do you choose 1) A winning team in Florida or 2) A winning team in Alberta when offered the same dollars

How many new players do they have this season? Losing in the Finals makes a team hungry the next year. It's a massive, unquantifiable difference

This team's leadership looks happy to be here. The guys that have been to the Finals knew this would be a battle

Oilers bringing their family for fun and sun while the Florida players stay in hotels at home

Mentality is massive

What are you even talking about- which free agents did they lure? Florida was built through good management. They picked up their best d man through waivers. Ekman -Larsson was picked up from the trash heap. Florida wasn’t built through free agency. Their GM and their brilliant analytics guy plucked teams of value contracts and watched them all turn into mini Hymans

You love to jerk off Zito all the time but it took f***ing years for him to build the team and his team had to LOSE first before they learned to win

It's not all f***ing spreadsheets. Hockey is too f***ing chaotic to Moneyball. Jesus Christ you're insufferable. Bye again

Jesus Christ he literally elbows him directly in the chin

Here’s an angle showing him jump as well.
Sure and he got a penalty.

Bennett punches McDavid in the face in G1 and there's no penalty when he's nowhere near the puck.

Puck goes over the glass that is missed that would've been a major 5-3.

Luostarinen lies dead on the ice, hobbles off the ice like he tore his MCL/ACL and is back on the ice after Foegele got his 5 minute penalty.

Panthers are better at "influencing" the refs.

Those posts were just in response to someone saying it wasn't an elbow. Of course the Panthers are playing the officials, but somebody's trying to tell others not to believe what they see.

This thread is literally the first time I mentioned Zito. Zito started at the same time with Holland with way less. No, hockey isn’t too chaotic for analytics. This sentence just shows you have no
Clue what analytics are. Im insufferable because I made all valid points that you couldn’t refute but to say you dont understand math. Goodbye to you too. Rest, I think you’re having a stroke

He was talking about today’s game. Not sure what he should have done different today.

Perry is cooked. Ceci was trash and had to
Sit. Skinner played good today.
I don’t think Skinner was great- but the game is not his fault. I’m on record here saying I hated Holland’s deadline. The overpaid for Henrique- and I like Henrique. He didn’t address the D, and was happy he didn’t trade any roster players.

Perry was garbage
Foegele was brain dead
McLeod was garbage
Ceci is trash
Perry is done
Kane is declining
Nurse is trash

Im glad to be wrong about Broberg

Well, Colin Campbell’s was busted before trying to influence the refs in favour of his son before. Campbells are shady as f***

I'm not saying the game wasn't poorly officiated.

But Draisaitl was about as dog shit as it gets the entire game and then takes that bonehead penalty.

You'd expect shit like this from Kane, Foegele. Not your 2nd best player putting up an absolute muffin in game 2 of the SCF

At this point of the playoffs, it's a war of attrition. I'm sure Bennett would've liked to have taken out McDavid for the playoffs like he did with Marchand and Knives.

I still don't know why Kane wasn't put on LTIR until the playoffs instead of trying to hobble his way through the playoffs. Kane's the type of player you need to be playing with a physical presence.
