The difference in between lines 2&3 for the Panthers compared to the Oilers is why the Oilers are having a hard time.
Tkachuk-Bennett-Rodrigues and Luostarinen-Lundell-Tarasenko
Compared to McLeod-Draisaitl-Holloway and Janmark-Henrique-Kane (likely done now)
Yeesh.
Lundell has almost as many points as their entire bottom sixBut but the Panthers 3rd line only has 7 points.
I think that (almost) any player holding his head, going down and staying down gets pulled by the spotter. Technically, a player holding his head should be pulled, is that a good reason? The point is he was pulled for a reason, whether it was his jaw or a concussion spotter as he took contact to the head, whatever it was, they didn't pull him from the game for no reason.
No one from the team suggested it was anything after the game. He was checked out the next day, practiced this morning, hopefully he can go tomorrow night.
The theatrics excuses, and career ending injuries, or hoping for a suspension that was never coming, all those false narratives are bullshit, and they didn't start or are being suggested by Cats fans.
Edmonton is one of the diviest teams in the league.Oil throwing shade on the Panthers for diving is hilarious, round 2 McAverage and his side kick flopped all over the place for calls. Not a word on diving from Edm media then.
It’s very easy to hate this current Oilers team IMO.
Wait... You think the Panthers would keep their best player out for almost 10 minutes intentionally in a 2-1 game?first Luostarinen has a miraculous recovery...now Barkov
stunning!
I know, but that was my point. I was responding to the guy that insinuated Maurice kept him out of a 2-1 game with 9:28 to go because he was angling for a possible suspension to Draisaitl in game 3.Yea, but if I am not mistaken, he was removed by the spotters to pass through the concussion protocols (which takes some time). By the time that was done the game was probably out of reach.
There was no reason for him to return even if healthy..
Oh I know, the irony is pretty funny.Oil throwing shade on the Panthers for diving is hilarious, round 2 McAverage and his side kick flopped all over the place for calls. Not a word on diving from Edm media then.

Dude it’s pretty obvious. The Oilers are playing against the Panthers AND the refsOh I know, the irony is pretty funny.
Oh I know....those floppin' Panthers diving all over the ice for pp's... I mean we had the Carrick nut-- spear that lasted for a good 10 seconds, Foegele knee, and jumping Drai elbow that every TSN guy has called dirty, but those are nothing when compared with Bennett's incidental contact with McDavid. Even if he meant to hit him clean...he hovered over him man !!! HOVERED!!!!!!!Dude it’s pretty obvious. The Oilers are playing against the Panthers AND the refs
I'm pretty sure the coach decides which players hops on the ice, not the fans.Does anyone know of a sportsbook that takes prop bets on whether the Edmonton crowd will throw trash on the ice at some point over the next two games?
Most of the hacks were minor ones, meant to upset McDavid’s timing and rhythm, not to jolt him so much that he would fall or even lose the puck. That kind of more aggressive lightning strike of a slash would almost certainly bring on a penalty call. Instead the fouling was more like a steady shower, an unrelenting and unpleasant soaking.
Think of it as Florida water torture: drip, drip, drip.
We can only guess at the instructions Panthers players get, but it appears like one cardinal rule is that when McDavid has the puck and you are able to take a poke or three at him with your stick, you are required to do so.
...One thing for sure: Florida plays clearly within the rules as they are now constituted in the NHL.
How do I know this?
Not once was a slashing or hooking penalty called on a Florida player for their hacks or slashes on McDavid, not even when McDavid broke in late in the game, desperate for a goal, alone on Sergei Bobrovosky, save for Florida forward Matthew Tkachuk hacking McDavid three times, coming straight up under his knee and thigh with his stick just as McDavid was about to shoot.
Do you know who isn’t about to complain about such treatment? McDavid himself.
Asked about Florida, he had only praise for their defensive tactics and intensity.
“They’re a great team,” McDavid said. “They defend really well… They’re making it tough for sure.”
They live and die on their PP and they know it. Gotta dive to get a chance to score. 5v5 they got nothing to offer.Edmonton is one of the diviest teams in the league.
Hey, if there’s any time for theatrics it’s the Stanley Cup Final when it’s a 1 goal game.People forget Barkov was hit high in LA earlier this season before the ASG and wore a full cage for a few games before the break, could have been related, could have been the league spotters, no one on the team even mentioned the hit after the game, he was just evaluated the next day and was able to practice today.
We aren't pulling our best forward out for theatrics at any point of any game, makes no sense to do so unless he was held out for a real reason.
Anyone that thought a suspension was coming, should give their head a shake, not at this stage of the playoffs, same reason no one will be fighting.
And FLA is downright lovable? I love it FLA fan, who typically wears a gold chain with a rat and has a Scarface poster in their house, are saying how bad and nasty EDM is. We aren’t “loveable” to most other fanbases, but the poster you quoted has a point about McDraiFlop. And FLA is downright lovable? I've been watching most of Floridas games this season, they do play on the edge, yes. There have been some reckless, dangerous plays that should've warranted suspensions. But these finals I really can't say that I've felt like reffing has been in "favour" of anyone and Florida has been able to keep the physical play as just that, physical play. Missed calls have been pretty even. One thing where Florida clearly seems to have the edge is getting under the skin of Oilers, that cupcheck and drai/barkov incident atleast seem to point towards that.FLA is the most penalized team in the league. This is the kind of logic we've been dealing with since the series startedWait... You think the Panthers would keep their best player out for almost 10 minutes intentionally in a 2-1 game?
