Very true. California has the most registered players with USA Hockey, but they're far and away the most populous state. Per capita I'm not sure what it is, but I wouldn't imagine that it's California.

Probably Massachusetts or Minnesota.

Minny, 50 players played an NHL game this past season with a population of 5.7-6 Mil

I've made two points:

1.) Having a full building does not mean you have more fans than other teams with full buildings.
2.) Being loud does not make you a better or bigger fan than someone who isn't loud.

The two points above are weak arguments for saying why you have more fans or you're a better fan. I'm not questioning how passionate the fans are. I'm not questioning Carolina has fans.

No one questioned those two points but instead made a bunch of strawmans to attack instead. When did I say I was a better fan than anyone?

Loud does not mean most fans. Most buildings in the playoffs are full. Being loud doesn't make you a bigger fan - it generally signals younger fans - which makes sense given they had some of the cheapest tickets in the playoffs (so younger fans are more likely to be able to afford to go).

Can look at it the other way too.

Toronto have way more fans than Carolina. That doesn't change the fact that most hockey players would probably rather play a road postseason game in Toronto instead of Raleigh.

It's about quality and not quantity. One arena has businessmen eating sushi and going over business deals. The other has every fan in red cheering and going crazy.
