ACtually... never mind. Blues have like zero bad contracts. Not even any replacement level players being paid 2m or something. Unfortunate.
If Blues want to create space to add someone, dealing Tarasenko feels like path of least resistance.
I think the best fit for Tarasenko is New Jersey, but not sure if they would be willing to do that at this point in their rebuild. Or if they even having anything that would interest the Blues.
Agree that Jersey could make sense. If they would take him at full $, I could see Blues willing to take picks/prospects for him and then going shopping elsewhere (presumably for a D).

kinda defeats the purpose. one, there's more than 1m diff in cap hits. the blues couldn't afford that
second, unless the player coming back is REALLY good at the hockeys, it feels like a sideways move

I think Myers is the better player but their values might be similar because Myers costs almost double.
Wouldn't retain but would do straight up, but I understand you don't want that salary either. That's why I added Sundqvist because he evens up the cap and fills a major hole for us. Canucks could add a pick but probably not a high enough one for you to change your mind.
Canucks do need LD help/depth but not @ Scandella's cap price.

Okay, okay. Let's think this through. Tyler Myers, 31 yrs old RD, 2 more years on his contract at 6m. So, we are going to take on that contract to play him on the third pairing behind Parayko and Faulk, and invest almost 20m in three RD? Even with retention, this makes no sense whatsoever. Why don't we just extend Bortuzzo, who has been playing very well lately, (and can PK!), for about half that?
