Only change I'd make is Robertson over Terry, Connor, or Tage. So good that even if Matthews is hurt I'd still call them the favorite ...

The hope is that everyone is healthy and producing at a decent clip by the time the tournament starts. It sounds like it's 20 skaters/three goalies, so I would currently go with:

Goaltenders (x3):

Connor Hellebucyk (starter)
Jake Oettinger (backup)
Jeremy Swayman

Defense (x7):

Quinn Hughes/Alex Vlasic
Adam Fox/Charlie McAvoy
Jaccob Slavin/Zach Werenski
John Carlson

Forwards (x13):

Matthew Tkachuk/Auston Matthews/Jack Hughes
Matt Boldy/Jack Eichel/Jake Guentzel
Kyle Connor/J.T. Miller/Brady Tkachuk
Tage Thompson/Dylan Larkin/Alex Tuch
Clayton Keller

If the guys they pick to fill roles perform to their capabilities this team might very well be better then their 95 squad.

On paper It's got everything.
I recall Larkin was a tremendous pastrnak shadow a few years ago at the world's. Made his life hell.lol.

On paper.. all that is missing is that historic men's success. Might be their biggest obstacle. Or they win, gain confidence and go on a Canada type run for the remainder of the 2020s.

I'm still pulling for Finland at this one though. Finally have their elite generation together.

Hell of a team.

I'm a bit surprised Carlson has slipped back into the picture, it looked like the U.S was moving on from him but he's put himself back into the picture. Vlasic has emerged as a real credible choice. The depth in the U.S is there that real good players can get left off, a good problem to have.

They are my favourite going into this thing as much as it pains me to say it.

Finland's performance at this thing with this generation is one one the things I am most interested in seeing, who is the head coach for them anyway?

No idea to be honest.. i was hoping they could get their legend coach back. Wanted to see what he did with elite talent since he's so damn good with Liiga players. But I think he is coaching a smaller nation?

I think I saw that somewhere on here, can't remember what country he was taking over as HC.

American and Canadian fans seem to have their whole focus on each other but count out Finland at your own peril ladies and gents.
