Same. And even before that he was playing like crap. Even tried at center which was total failure.

Kotkaniemi and Kakko are fine in bottom 6 role. Can't say the same about Laine who can be a liability on the ice.

Choosing Laine on the team, worst case scenario: He is out of form, ends up being the 13th forward or only has a small role on the team.

Not choosing Laine, worst case scenario: By February he is scoring hat tricks left and right and the coaching staff looks real stupid for not picking him.

We don't have many right handed players or pure goal scorers. Our center depth is much better than our winger depth. Even a slightly rusty Laine is better than Pulju and co. I'm with OP on this one. I think it's a low risk, high reward move.

And don't try with any "liability" or "locker room cancer" bullshit, worst case scenario he just warms the bench IMO. If he is in form, we have an important spot for him on a scoring line.
