Say something nice about your favourite team's opponent

I've never really minded the Panthers, which dates to long before I became a Tampa Bay Lightning fan (in addition to being a Utah/Arizona fan) because I married a Bolts fan. While it is a fun rivalry, I take it more as a sibling rivalry since they're an in-state rival. You love to beat the crap out of each other, but kind of wish them well when you're not playing each other. I've seen plenty of both Bolts and Panthers fans who feel the same way (though I have also seen plenty of fans who would probably be pretty happy if the other Florida team went 0-82 and lost the draft lottery too). I was happy for them when they won the cup last year.
For my part, I agree. I've said elsewhere that I would want a florida team in the SCF EVERY SINGLE YEAR to continue to drive the rest of the hockey world insane. And Tampa is a well run organisation, with a great coach and great players - difficult to hate. Except for Kucherov and now Hagel - dirty rotten players, wouldn't have them on MY team...

The NHL player with the most gorgeous eyes in the league is Darcy Kuemper in my opinion, but the Bolts aren't playing the Kings right now. :P
Oh nice! Although I'm still shaking my head at your regard for Marchand - I (now) love the guy but "cute" isn't an adjective that comes to mind when I think of him!

McDavid is always worth the price of admission and I love the mean streak he's developed, dude was pumping a TNT plunger on Doughty's back the other night while mad dogging the ref and I was impressed, laughing, and upset all at the same time  like "I dare you to call this, bitch."

He's obviously had his moments because their entire D core is a little patchwork, but I've always been impressed with how Kulak just goes about his business.

Fans are as passionate as it gets and i'm looking forward to seeing that building erupt tonight even being on the wrong side of it.

Cole Caufield has to lead the league in goals per pound. And he’s awesome.
Lane Hutson comes from a good family. He’s awesome too.
Montreal is where I would want to live if I didn’t live here. Great food, great people, great culture.

Ovechkin is an ageless wonder. I'm one year younger than him and what he's doing is f***ing inspiring lol

I was a doubter of the Caps, but I have to say, they'll be tough to stop. They have a good mix of older talents and young guns, and they are really physical.

They are one of the few teams I'd be ok if they win it all

The Canes have a great coach and they seem to easily find players that fit perfectly into their system, It's not boring its TEAM hockey in the NHL were the focus has gone to superstars carrying teams.

If my team wasn't facing it I would probably be enjoying it.

The Leafs are as complete a team as any, and are well coached. They have two first lines, three solid second pairings, and a locked in goaltender. They are ECF bound.

They're actually in the playoffs.

Also Robert Thomas has had an incredible career, going from Matchbox Twenty to an elite 1C in the NHL is a crazy trajectory.

Edit: read it as 'rival' instead of 'opponent'. Damn reading comprehension!

My mother-in-law lives in the “fake” Dunedin. Whenever we go visit her, I sometimes joke that we’re going to New Zealand.

As for something nice about the opponent… well, I’ve always thought that Brad Marchand is kind of cute.

Hey I get it, lol. He’s “ugly cute.” (Or “unconventionally cute” if you want to be nice.)

For the LA Kings I have a couple:

1. Kings fans are pretty chill for the most part. No cringey videos of Kings fans yelling “**** McDavid!”, and seem approachable and easy to talk to.

2. Our franchises are very historically intertwined, and I find that pretty interesting. I have more respect than hate for the Kings. They would have to do some extremely egregious for me to hate them, like injure one of our star players.

I've liked Kleven. He looks like he can be a future benoit (physical, good bottom pairer)

I think Sanderson is going to be good, he's had some rough stretches but you could tell he's a main stay on the dcore with some nice plays too

Stutzle looks similar to a 21-22 year old nylander in the playoffs. Flying around, but a lot of perimeter, taking it around the net and back to the point. a couple of times he could've cut across the slot areaish and ripped one instead. I think he's gonna mature as he plays more postseason games.(hopefully gives up on the ridiculous diving though)

I have a soft spot for Winnipeg and their fans; they’re chill and knowledgeable about the game, and treated me nicely and fairly when I went to their board to ask what they’d want for McGroarty. They have a solid team, and if my Blues lose this series, I hope Winnipeg wins it all.

Never been but I hear Colorado's nice. :dunno:
Been to Colorado twice, and can confirm it is the most beautiful state I’ve been to with lots to do. I also have a soft spot for the Rockies (not over my Cardinals, but I like their team colors and name), and I remember Walker, Helton, Holliday, Tulo, CarGo, and Jeff Francis, whom, if I’m not mistaken, pitched eight innings of shutout ball when I watched the Cardinals in the Rockies stadium in July of 2006. Very underrated pitcher.

Jamie Benn is sure enough of himself that he's kept his moderately short beard through changing styles, his own 20s and 30s, and even the fact that he's probably more of a mustache man.
Consistency that deserves attention.
Benn there, doing that.
