Tough to be critical of him as he's been better this year. Timmins has really improved his defensive positioning too.

There is zero reason to re-unite Matthews-Marner at 5v5 or to even put Matthews on PP1.

He got paid, team success is more important. We can put together a 2nd PP unit with Matthews, Domi, OEL, Patches and maybe the TDL addition.

It's actually quite simple to do. Some fans always want "puck moving dmen" to break out.

As long as the forwards are supporting and in possession, any NHL dman can execute breakout passes.

I don't know how a small guy like him can be so strong with the puck. Must be leg strength and dropping his center of gravity slightly.
