Look at this gem from their gdt lol

"Biggest day of the year for Leafers, as they get to actually watch two star players. Just another game for Connor, against a team he can’t stand and a city he hates playing in. Good guys win 5-3."

Back then watching a hockey player live was hot as watching a pop singer
I remember when Nolan Ryan used to come in town, that was a huge deal

I feel that way about all music. Funny enough I do like listening and have my favourites but to pay even 100 bucks to go watch a show, not a chance.
I'd pay 150 or so for a really good concert. Depending on who you can still get that sometimes.

Leafs though are so expensive. Unless you go see them in the states somewhere which will already cost you more... cheapest even in Ottawa in January is about 200 for 1 ticket. Seems wrong to me.

My sister paid 80 bucks for Madonna concert back in 90 I think at Skydome. She had to save up for months

I paid nearly that much for a Saturday night game @ ACC more than two decades ago.

I was really hoping OEL would drop to us back in 2009 when he was drafted
He was the D we really needed. We got Kadri, not a bad consolition price, but would have loved OEL

Omg tributes are deadly dull

Leafs fans haven't build the love for OEL yet. He only played 18 games for us

I get why they're doing it, but it does seem weird to honor a player that's played only a handful of games with the Leafs so far.

Half way through my first bourbon and the haven’t even dropped the puck yet
Music sounds like it was stolen from Zombie by the Cranberries

McDavid watching the Leafs celebrate OEL's 1000th game while Edmonton getting nervous and yelling at their interns to find some clips on YouTube to make McDavid a 1000 point video before he gets back to Edmonton

Howdy Ho's !!

Beating the Oilers on Saturday night would be nice. Very nice.

Agreed that these ceremonies are so tedious. Every game it's something.

Skinners numbers looking like normal now. Yikes.

Means nothing with the Leafs though. I swear they score more on the best guys.
