If I was sarnia I would consider letting Bodin walk in the off season and drafting a 18 year old goalie in the import draft. Someone that you know will be solid and will for sure come.
Oh, I wouldn't even think about it if I were the team. He isn't good enough. Started well & had me optimistic, but his foot speed is bad, his puck movement has gotten worse & for a guy who's big & said he loves being physical he has not shown that whatsoever. I think the last good hit he threw was vs the Soo back in the opening weeks of the season..

Add in they bring back Fischer/Young/O'Brien/Hurt/Bridgewater/Barr + have Andersen kicking around + Neusteter/Garret are guys they think have good potential that might push for a spot & whoever they take in April. It would frankly be idiotic to bring him back.

I'd totally be on board for taking a goalie. I think Maillet has shown he's a fine/solid goalie, but if they wanna be a team that competes for home ice next yr he likely isn't the guy you turn to for 45-50 starts. Still hoping Grovestine or Osipenko become something, but even if they do then it becomes a luxury & u could flip Maillet & run with one of them + import.

Makes even more sense when you look at how many D are returning like I said + up front there isn't a ton of room either.

Brown-Beamish-Karimov
Wainwright-Di Iorio-Manza*
Luecke-Edwards-Kostuch**??
Simpson-Chamberlain

Gaughan/Hall/any prospects from '24 draft + whoever they take in the coming draft + if they sign any BCHL/USHL kids.

Seems pretty obvious to me honestly if there's a couple good U18 Gs available.

The wildcard is if Patrick Quinlin (G) comes to the Sting next year. They may also draft a goalie high in the U16 Draft. Good to have depth at all positions.

Would doubt highly Young and Wainwright come back, not both of them and risk injury and turn down NCAA offer. Also manza commited for next season in Ohio hard to see him drinking the koolaid and buying into the lies? Especially after this year.
Still does karimov come back? Or play in KHL? few peices could affect next years team. Might be rebuild again if kostuch doesn't come back, we are still uncertain he comes back at this level. We could see next year being the same as this year with Letangs's lack of development, jefferies pp just to mention on going issues, while seeing fischer dealt early in season as he will demand out!
Just throwing thoughts out there.
Don't think next year is anything like normal alot more moving peices. Players have options we can't just expect things to fall into place.

I think young and wainwright come back, they get lots of playing time and have been treated great and had decent personal success (mostly young). Manza and karimov are the two I’m worried about, have to play both down the stretch, and Seca will have to get a new good coach and promise them more minutes next season. Hopefully they can sell it to them and they come back. No way Karimov plays in the KHL next season. MHL or VHL. Maybe at best 2-3 games in the KHL. He will be a late NHL draft pick and didn’t develope at all and didn’t play much this season and his confidence probably isn’t too high either.

Disagree, going to be a hard sell to both Wainwright and young, karimov and manza, just dont think next years team going to compete for anything so what's point in staying. Seriously organization isn't trending up at all. As much as I want them to stay and hope things will be different next year they just won't, not in a good spot after 4 years of Letang! Development at an all time low Defense has been regressing steady Bodin came in with alot of promise to have Letang ruin him. Isn't much role player teaching going on.
Not like London all players know their roles and play them to a tee.

Karimov getting drafted would be really big for the Sting for keeping him. An NHL team would rather him play in the OHL than go back to the MHL/VHL and get all the bad habits he's just getting out back.

Manza is not physically ready for NCAA Hockey. His advisors would be smart to tell him that & im sure he's well aware too. He needs a couple years to add muscle, size before taking that jump to play against teams filled with 20/21/22/23 year olds.

I'd lean both are back, but be lying if Letang's usage of them doesn't have me worried.

There's been 1 guy who's commited as a 19 yr old. I like Wainwright but he has not had an OHL career that'll have NCAA schools lining up to sign him early. Young definitely could, but he plays 25 mins a night here, PP/PK etc. College he'll be 3rd pair no PP/PK.

Both would be smarter to do what Docuette / Filak are doing. Comeback as OAs get played a crap ton, get more interest maybe even from NHL/AHL teams then decide what route to take.

Maybe a dumb question from me but is there really a chance Karimov will be drafted? Is he even ranked?

I just don’t see why they wouldn’t play their OA year in the OHL and then sign with an NCAA team the year after like Doucette and filak are doing. Young might even get signed to an NHL team as a free agent. I am worried about karimov and manza though, mostly manza. But I think a different coaching staff could change his mind, have to remember he’s producing just as much offensively at a higher level than he was in the BCHL. Hes also in his first 20 games as an OHL player. He still has lots to learn.
He was ranked higher to start the yr. Then has been listed on the central scouting lists as 5-7 (I think)
Idk he was ranked a late 1st or 2nd round pick at the start of the year, and he’s fell back to “maybe” getting drafted, maybe organizations look at Letang and sarnia and say to themselves “what the hell did you do with this kid all year”. Could lead to them wanting him to go back to Russia or making the sting trade him or having him go to NCAA.

That would be the best O/A trio we’ve had since Burke/Dillingham era.
It's why part of me still thinks next years teams will be quite good..

Strong OA group. Strong U18 group.

Fischer will be a top 5-7 D IMO.
Young is one of the more productive D at 19 so hopefully builds on it.
Hurt has had another really strong year.
O'Brien has been a really solid addition.

That'll be a really strong top-4 D imo..

Barr has had a strong 2025. Hopefully he can keep it up & build on it with a big summer.
Bridgewater has had a fairly solid rookie yr. Has dipped as of late. Has the tools to be a good D.

That *Should* be a strong D core.

Returning all their Fs except Filak, Doucette, Moses, Franceschetti who frankly haven't done anything in 2025. Always hope for the bump in production from guys being older. Di Iorio/Edwards especially.

Goalie will be biggest ? for sure & coaching, but hopefully that's dealt with..

See if this team can put two (!) good games together tomorrow in Guelph. Already looks done, but a loss here & GUE is definitely done so you know they'll come out playing hard.

No reason why they cant match it/outplay them like they did Sunday. But as we've seen every time we think that they have a dud.

A win combined with a loss for SSM (vs BAR) & OS (@ ER) would put Sarnia completely in the driver seat for 7th. Be 3 points ahead with a game in hand on both.

Still don't feel like sitting thru a 4 game ass kicking, but if they are to make it better to come against WSR than LDN lol. So hopefully they can bring another good effort.

Staff, Letang and Jefferies worse pp in history of hockey. That's huge issue and if not getting a top starter then this team isn't doing much.
Hope Wainwright and young stay but we will see, hopefully coaching change helps that decision same with manza and karimov but still concerned.
Looking like a wait and see

Well we better see Surzycia again and let's pray for playoff pp! Has to start now. Letang has to think he is gabe of maybe fighting to stay?
Time to coach little bit or matsos help with bench calls and timeouts and stuff.

What do we think lines will be same as last game against guelph?
Do we see Bodin before season ends?
Does Omeri get some games?
Will franchesschetti get in line up to stir up against london and Windsor? Little sandpaper injection
How about simpson we see him when his season ends for rest of year(love to inject him on 3rd line) love to see manza on 2nd line with brown and Beamish
Like to keep vets together to play key minutes against other teams top guys.
Been working last couple of games with OT loss in Kitchener and win at home. Just hope they get something going and put up some Gs especially Doucette longest drought in 3 years, same with Filak 2 guys we need have been ICE cold.
Tonight is due or Die I believe

OHL makes there decision on Allen. Looks like he'll be back on the 16th which will be a 15 game suspension by that point. That's insane how impaired driving fleeing the scene of an accident and injuring someone only gets you 15 games. Meanwhile Mallioux got half a season for sharing nudes of a girl he was with. Like what are we doing this league is becoming a complete joke. By the way I belive Mallioux deserved what he got. But for Allen to not get aleast the rest of the year is a joke IMO.

For the first time they are putting Di Iorio & Edwards together.

Doucette-Filak-Wainwright
Brown-Beamish-Karimov
Di Iorio-Edwards-Manza
Simpson-Hall-Moses

Fischer-Hurt
Young-Bridgewater
O'Brien-Barr

Surzycia

Big chance for Karimov with 23&40. Hopefully he can show well.

Not sure I see the fit putting Di Iorio on the wing for the first time this late in the yr, but whatever still exciting to see the 2 elite rooks together. Hopefully that line actually plays.

O Reilly drunk in car 2am as well League don't have curfew or just London. How can a player that had substance abuse issues in guelph now get caught drinking and driving impaired crashed fled scene hurt his buddy but only geta 16 games. Shows there is an issue with off-ice in london.
Didnt a player jump from a building few years earlier and then logan Mailoux seems to be issues In London but league sweeping under rug as usual London in playoff run

Can't be lumping those type of things together. Especially with Kazbekov & how heartbreaking, tough that was for those players.

Mailloux stuff also happened in Europe during covid. So not much London could do outside not sign him/let him play once the OHL resumed play.

Allen's a young kid who made a dumb mistake. Luckily didn't seriously hurt himself or anyone else. I have mixed feelings on what his hockey/on ice "punishment" should've been. 15 though, should've been the starting point & I am surprised that's all it was.
