I think they would rather play Windsor from the looks of it..If I was flint I would be doing everything in my power to win one out of the two games against Saginaw , because if they lose both and the soo beats sarnia they will leap frog flint into 6th.
Ya maybe they have had better success against them this year… I would not want to play Windsor in a 7 game series, such a big/heavy team with lots of skill.I think they would rather play Windsor from the looks of it..
Rich coming from a fan that's rooting for my team to lose and miss, but pretty crap message to the team sitting guys to go into the playoffs losing a bunch in a row to drop in the standings to play Windsor lol.Ya maybe they have had better success against them this year… I would not want to play Windsor in a 7 game series, such a big/heavy team with lots of skill.
The thing that worries me the most. Is if we make the playoffs. Then management will just use that as an excuse not to make any changes. Which we desperately need no matter if we make it or not.I'm not one for tanking but it would be more beneficial if Sarnia doesn't make the playoffs. Obviously you like seeing them win on home ice but we need to avoid LDN at all costs even if it's missing playoffs.... A full on LDN team could toss 12 on us for 4 straight games... that does no good. I'm hoping for an os win and buzz loss unfortunately.
Young has been really good this year. He's in the top 10 for even-strength points by defencemen. Parekh (60), Dickinson (54), Marrelli (44), Mews (43), Harding (40), Aitcheson (38), Burns (38), and Allen (35) are the only d-men ahead of him. Young and Cristoforo are tied for ninth with 33 even-strength points. I wouldn't be surprised if Young is hovering around a point per game next seasonPretty wild Young will have a chance to finish the season as the teams leading point getter. Has 45 currently tied with Filak, 1 ahead of Wainwright & Edwards. Not bad for a guy they got for a 6th round pick a few years ago. Been thrilled with his season. Only -3 on a team who's been outscored to hell & he plays a ton + been a huge producer. Imagine if they had any semblance of a PP too?!
Also 4th on the team in shots with 142. Been nice to see & I expect him to be one of the leagues better OA D next season.
Obviously we had pretty high expectations on Karimov & he's not hit them (bit overrated by pundits & not coached well), but for him to have 15 goals considering he's spent way to much time on L4, wasn't on PP, 0 OT shifts its pretty encouraging to me. Easy to forget he's only 17 too.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if next year (hoping he's back) he scores close to 30 goals given he's actually used properly. Especially if he can work on his shot as most of his goals have come around the net. Has the size, skill, speed to be a really good player for us.
I know we are all doom & gloom right now lol, but may as well find some positives I suppose.
Obviously not Flint's 'A' team but regardless it's good to see the Sting get a win. Nice to see the vets step up on OA night. Doucette with 2G/1A, Filak gets an assist, and Surzycia stopped 17/19. Surzycia moves into 6th place on Sarnia's all-time goaltending wins list. Hopefully he gets a chance to pick up his 50th career win on Sunday afternoon in the Soo.
This team is so weird with development. They can turn Doucette, a free agent signee, into a two-time 20 goal scorer and Surzycia, a 2nd round U18 pick, into a starting-calibre goalie but struggle to develop top draft picks. Makes zero sense.
The young guys continue to be a bright spot. Brown (G), Di Iorio, Edwards, Karimov (G), and Manza all get a point. Karimov becomes the second rookie to reach the 15-goal mark. 2014-2015 was the last time the Sting had two rookies score 15+ goals. Jakob Chychrun and Pavel Zacha did it that year.

He’s hit my expectations for the amount he’s played, he spent majority of the season on line 4 and a tone of time stapled to the bench. Hard to produce from the bench. So I’m pretty happy with what he’s produced and his flashes of skill and hard working play given the amount of time he actually spent on the ice and the players he was playing with. Just had a bum coach. Realistically he could of had 50 points or more playing in the top 6 with better players all season.Pretty wild Young will have a chance to finish the season as the teams leading point getter. what does this even meanYou poor Sting fans all the way to Game 68 ..... further proving your GM is also a prophet it seems. Big win tonite, I guess the kids deserve credit for at least it seems they do care. Unlike perhaps ...... ?
