Safe to say they think size, muscle, physicality was a serious issue the last 2 seasons. While I agree, I'm not sure I saw it as significantly as they did.

I leave pretty happy though. Rather surprised we didnt take Reznik (or any other goalie they could have highly ranked) in the 3rd tho. It seems like a pretty big hole in the system & they passed on some highly touted goalies not once, not twice, but three times.

Could tell us they think highly of Grovestine or Osipenko, or they are taking an import goalie in June. If it's none of those then I really wont get why they passed on taking one.

Certainly seems like a group filled with serious potential from how the broadcast talked. Size, skating, skill, physicality. A lot to like.

Hopefully Seca says Aucoin is reporting & I'll be really intrigued to hear what he says about Sarvir & even if he mentions if Sewell is close in his opinion.

Gonna try & stay even keeled/not overrate the guys as I always do haha. Will try & find some video of Sarvir & Sewel & post it tomorrow.

I feel like 3 teams had really good drafts ... 1 -Guelph.. 2- Owen Sound 3 - Brampton.... I hated Saginaws draft. Buzz could have been a top team too but I feel like they dropped the ball on Reznik but Buzz definitely had a better than average draft.

lol according to the broadcast every single pick was a good one with no issues.

Yah I imagine they could take a kid with 0 points and theyd find positives just because they know the families are watching lol.

I do like what he was saying though about the guy. Puck skills, skating abilities etc. you'd hope he wouldn't exaggerate those lol.

My god if Aucoin and Sewell panned out it would be sweet. 2 giants back there that can both skate.

Owen sound taking an 07 was really odd to me. But first few picks were brilliant. Brampton is an excellent drafting team. Guelph definitely did well too.

And of course LDN probably had the best one even tho they didn't seem to get any major steals lol.

lol yah I guess im use to seeing LDN get 6 top prospects in round 2-3 that them not makes it seem like they didn't have a good draft.

Yao wouldn’t get it into what that Woolley guy was saying he basically says the same thing about every player picked tonight, except he will change it up saying one guy is a hard nosed player, another guy is elite skill level, other guy has tones of potential. But always talks every player up, I get he kind of has to because it’s a draft show and these are teenagers. But hopefully Sewell is a physical shut down defender than has solid skating. No need to rush him we have alot of defenceman and if aucoin comes over there is no need for Sewell to play this year he can play for strathroy/st.thomas/london junior b and live at home for the year and get some practises and a handful of games with the sting throughout the year.

It's crazy to think that these guys are the same age as Landon Dupont who already played a year in the CHL putting up 60 points as a defenceman.... nuts.
I know we've had Stamkos, but man I wish we got an exceptional status one of the years we stunk it up.

Some of these kids that come along are just outrageous. WHL been on a heater with them too. Apparently the top kid in their draft (Maddox Schultz) is another generational talent

Yeah man I was looking at Canadas upcoming world jr teams and holy smokes those teams are absolutely stacked... Next years team... Misa, Martone, McKenna, Hage, Greentree, Catton, Sennecke, Luchenko, Schaefer, Dickinson, Dupont, parekh. Could be the best team ever.

Seca on the 2nd, 3rd picks (Sting website)

Kaden is a smooth-skating, right-handed defenceman who matches the identity we’re building,” said Seca. “He checks all the boxes—he competes hard, defends well, and has excellent instincts. We believe he has the potential to be a high-end defender in our league.

Sarvir is a dynamic skater who competes in all the key areas of the ice,” added Seca. “He pushes the pace, shows a lot of versatility, and played for one of the top programs in North America. We see tremendous upside in his game.

Chase is a rangy defender with huge upside,” said Seca. “He’s one of the most improved players in his age group. He moves very well for his size and is the kind of big, reliable presence that can help in our pursuit of championships

Spent an hour+ watching some Sewell games on YouTube. I'm pretty impressed by him. Kid is absolutely massive. Some kids their heights seem a bit off, but I can definitely say he isn't one lol. He's all of 6'5".

Biggest thing you worry about with kids that size on D is their skating & while his stride isn't the most graceful one I've ever seen he moves well. Rather fluid on his feet. Moving laterally isn't an issue at all, edge work is fine. Lacks explosiveness, but you'd hope with age that'll improve along with the smoothness in his stride.

Puck skills are probably the next worry & while he needs work at it he isn't all that bad with it. Isn't super clunky & handling it like a grenade (IE Romeo lol) & he more often than not made solid crisp passes. Biggest issue was definitely under heavy pressure, but that's an issue for a lot of kids.

Defensively he looked like a nightmare to go against. Such a long, lanky kid who uses it to his advantage. In the games I watched he was great at denying zone entries. Definitely likes using his size down low & out front which is great. Didnt look like a pleasant experience going to those areas with him. Ton of filling out to come which is exciting.

Overall I'm pretty dang happy with what I see. Feels like a pick right out of London's book on D. Has that Jackson Edwards, Isaiah George, Jared Woolley type of package where hes big, lanky, hard to play against, can move well for his size. LDN always takes those kids then works up the areas that need it & before you know it they are staples in the T4 & we are thinking how did they get that kid in RD3/4/5 etc.

Be intrigued to see if Seca touches on his readiness. From what I saw he didn't look terribly far off, especially if he has a big summer, but as you guys mentioned 0 need to rush him. Let him play huge minutes in Jr B & get some games in periodically up in the O. Kid has great upside.

This is unfortunately all I could find with Jaworski. All goals by him.

Easy to see though the kid has some really nice skills & speed. The first & last goals especially are absolute beauties.

Hopefully get an up close look at him at rookie camp. Looks like a really fun player.

Kid can fly, definitely has skill, if they can get him to commit this year or next that would make up for the lack of skill in Lammens, don’t want to say lock of skill Lammens is skilled just not as skilled as a lot of the first 10-15 guys, his hard working/physical play were what scouts liked about him, jaworski can be that top 10 talent forward. Be nice if they got our top 3 picks to commit.

meh.. ill believe it when I see it.
Most kids at 15,16 that are 6’2 6’3 6’4 6’5 take time to grow into those frames that’s extremely common. And when they do they are usually anywhere from 190-220 in the OHL sometimes heavier, that’s very common. Ashton reesor was drafted at 6’3 167 he grew into 6’4 205. Ryan mast was drafted 6’2 185 He grew into 6’4 220, Porter Martone was drafted at 6’2 170 he grew into 6’3 207. Chase Sewell is 6’5 200 and he still looks thin and lengthy that kid will most likely be 220 or heavier. Majority of the taller kids take longer to grow into those bigger frames but they always get to 190 but majority are in the 200’s. Lammens could get bigger or taller who knows, but he looks pretty stocky all ready from the pictures I’ve seen, if he doesn’t get taller I would think he probably gets up to 200. Just my opinion on that.

Seca on the picks.

Said he thinks Lammens is a guy you win with. He can score, make plays & has game on changing physicality.

On Aucoin - When you see him move around the ice, he draws you right in. We think he’s got the ability and the upside to be one of the top defenders in our league. We’re excited to get to work with him.”

On Jaworski - Great skater, really pushes the pace,” Seca said. “We think he’s got a lot of versatility in his game. (Hard) worker, plays in the tight areas, a strong player in a really good program.”

On Sewell - Big, huge defenceman. Moves real well for his size. Still kind of maturing into his own, but so much upside. The type of big defender that we think wins championships. We just need to give him some time, but really exciting prospect for us.” “Right now, we think he’s 6’6”, but he might still be growing for all we know,” Seca said with a laug

He ended it by saying all 4 are fully committed to Sarnia. Might be reading into it too much but hoping "fully committed" means no plans on leaving in 2 years.

Definitely sounds like Aucoin is committed 100% but good all 3 are. Aucoin is big and good in every area. Jaworski decent size so fast and good skill looks like he won’t be a perimeter player at all which is good. I like how they will give Sewell a year in junior b or junior a to develope, most likely play in one of the junior b teams around his home in aylmer, London or st.Thomas likely, maybe strathroy or Chatham. He will be a monster for us down the road when he’s 18/19.
