PP is on Head coach. Jefferies blows his PP is garbage. It's time to start calling for DS he seems to be allowing it all to happen.
I still find it hilarious that Letangs son, who played Jr.C like 2 years ago, is listed as an assistant coach and player development.... This isn't a serious organization.Gonna keep this one shorter because I don't wanna make u guys read another novel lol.
Biggest issues to me ~
- Coaching is horrid. The floor of your team cant be THIS low. No adjustments. Piss poor feel for game flow, what lines to use & when. Jeffrey is out of his depths.
- The vets specifically up front have been a major let down. Filak, Wainwright, Doucette, Moses have been pretty damn bad the last 2-3 weeks if not longer. Our 16 yr olds often out play them.
- Special teams. God. F*cking. Awful.
- To me there appears to be differences in what Letang wants his teams to be & what type of players Seca has been drafting.
- We are the Sarnia Sting
Roger Nelson, Jacques Demers, and others I can't recall of at the moment, never played junior hockey of their lives, not even Junior D, but all went on to have very long and successful careers as NHL coaches. Demers even won the Stanley Cup. Just sayingI really hope Legwand takes over as coach for the rest of the season and bring a good powerplay coach to run to run the forwards
I don't understand the point of this post.... I never said you need to play in the NHL to be a coach.... I've never said anything remotely close to this. Lol comparing Roger Nelson and Demers to Ayden Letang has gotta be a top 3 hilarious thing I've read on here.Roger Nelson, Jacques Demers, and others I can't recall of at the moment, never played junior hockey of their lives, not even Junior D, but all went on to have very long and successful careers as NHL coaches. Actually, this post was meant in reply to Davewheeler's post,
What was your point about his Jr C play? Was your complaint that it was 2 years again and a lack of coaching experience?I don't understand the point of this post.... I did not say "play in NHL to be a coach" either, I said "never play Junior hockey of their lives" in reference to Letang's son played Junior C and listed as assistant coach. Meaning some never played hockey in their lives, and still went on to coach in the NHLI don't understand the point of this post.... I never said you need to play in the NHL to be a coach.... I said he played jr.c 2 years ago which is a fact lol.... had he played in jr.b jr.d or ohl I would have said it... Going from playing Jr.c to coaching in the OHL in the matter of 2 years is a remarkable jump and he's only there because of his dad.... No one does that. The complaints are he's there because of his dad... he's basically the same age as the players and knows nothing about coaching or player development... I played Jr.C and I couldn't imagine anyone in that league graduating and immediately coaching a OHL team lol thats crazy... the players need to respect you to listen to you... yo lets take coaching tips from this guy who's our age and played jr.c.... hilarious. What was your point about his Jr C play? Was your complaint that it was 2 years again and a lack of coaching experience?
ok we will agree to disagree ... you think Letangs kid being an assistant fresh out of Jr.C is a great hire because Roger Nelson didn't play hockey.... I disagree.I did not say "play in NHL to be a coach" either, I said "never play Junior hockey of their lives" in reference to Letang's son played Junior C and listed as assistant coach. Don't do my thinking for me, I am well able to do that on my own. Assistant coaching can take many forms and functions, from beginner to more active as you gain experience. Letang's son may just be there as extra help on the ice to begin with, from standing on the ice or going through the motion for the players to go around, to retrieving pucks, setting pylons etc. As time and experience advance through years, he may learn to progress into other functions as assistant, to one day become a full assistant on the team and maybe one day a head coach. Dick Todd, started as an athletic assistant trainer with the Pete's in the early 70's, he became Pete's Head coach, and by 1993 the GM, he also went on to coach in the NHLok

If Letangs son has a knack for coaching , that's amazing. I hope he succeeds . Idk but this organization isn't in a spot to bring on the coaches son in any role really other than maybe as a stick boy. If he wants to get into player development and coaching he should start in the aaa minor midget level at the very least first. The fact that he's listed as player development is funny. Such a sarnia sting moveDon't do my thinking for me, I am well able to do that on my own. Assistant coaching can take many forms and functions, from beginner to more active as you gain experience. Sure if his roll is stick boy or pylon adjuster don't list him as an assistant coach and player development because I sure as heck hope thats not what he's actually doing.Don't do my thinking for me, I am well able to do that on my own. He’s never coached any team before joining the sting, not even U11 U13 U15 or junior C or junior B, he has not earned his way into the stings coaching staff, it’s absolutely embarrassing. Daddy got him a job with Zero experience. What was your point about his Jr C play? Was your complaint that it was 2 years again and a lack of coaching experience?
I am serious, very serious. I am not defending a Junior C player, I am defending the notion that anyone that never play the game, can not coach at the OHL level or higher. I don't know the kid being referred to, here, never met him and I have no interest of seeing him coaching the Sting, although I like to see the Sting do well, this kid is not the goal of my debateAre we serious defending a JR C player promoted to bring more of garbage my DAD alan has taught me through the years? Jr C experience doesn't give anyone any Credibility to work with any aspect of coaching at this level.
Just shows more how horrible Letang is as judgement and vouching for "HiS guys" his Son and His buddy the worst PP coach I have ever seen.
Defend that? Anyway, no one should realistically defend anything Letang has done in his years in sarnia. Been outcoached every level and games that matter. Teams take on his playing style Soft as Baby %#%t. Fans should be calling for DS on a Platter that gave Letang a 3 year extension and brought on Jefferies. Terrible calls.
How fast Buzz have fallen in 2 years from going as far in their history to where we are now because of Letangs arrogance to actually adjust and coach. BUZZ were thebeat team in league on paper and all chances to win were ruined by having Letang coach them. That was enough to make a move next year but DS didn't this teams development over years is on Letang!! We are reaping what he has sewn
If he wants to join coaching start with a U13 or U14 team and work your way up to junior C or junior B then join the sting as a video coach or development coach like 90% of coaches do. Only coaches that don’t, usually played pro hockey not 4th line junior c. And most coaches are in their late 20’s and up not 22 or 23 and standing on the bench. The players have no respect for him, he’s basically the same age and he has zero experience in playing or coaching at that level. Or coaching at ANY level and he was on the bench for a few games.Don't do my thinking for me, I am well able to do that on my own. I agree, it is not the base of my discussion, I see now that some are running away with something that has completely no part of my meaning, I am basically generalizing and not necessarily speaking of this coach's son. Many successful coaches have reach NHL, never played Junior C or D or even played a game of hockey at all, like you mentioned above, they started from a lower capacity, and they progressed from there. I do not disagree with your comment, it just that the coach's son is omitted from my comment, other than to use the "maybe" as reference to him already being part of the team's assistant position. See on the left under my picture, it says "The Devil's Advocate in Person" that the reason for my comment, in general I do agree with most of your comments, while adding other possibilityIf he wants to join coaching start with a U13 or U14 team and work your way up to junior C or junior B then join the sting as a video coach or development coach like 90% of coaches do.
