Sarnia Sting 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part II

You know your team sucks when Landon Sim gets a hat trick against you. This team has zero redeeming qualities to it.

Embarrassing is the word to describe it.

They weren't playing bad 5on5 but that double minor high stick seemingly ended the game with their putrid PK. Since they've barely been playing & poor Maillet once again is getting lit up in goals he has ZERO chance on.

It's fricken remarkable how mediocre guys look so good on London. Hunter is an absolute wizard behind the bench. Only they could the guys they did to WJCs and arguably start playing better! Lol.

Bodin needs to be sat indefinitely. Johnston shouldn't play another game for this team. Get Edwards back to C ffs.

I feel brutal for Maillet. Kid is getting no starts and when he does it's @ KGN to end a road trip or in relief in London.

Giving the kid zero chance.

Honestly there is no point in this team trying to make the playoffs.... We have our full roster and just got absolutely destroyed against LDNs second team.... Imagine you're Beckham Edwards right now and you chose Sarnia over LDN/ncaa..... This is what I was talking about.... This will be Londons team next year for the most part and this will be Sarnia's.... they are beating us 9-3. Sarnia will never be better than London unless a massive change in every single team dynamic happens... coaches, players, management, ownership .. its all abysmal. I honestly cant stand this team and im probably not going to watch another game this season... theres no point.

2024 was as forgettable a year in Sting hockey as I can remember. Obviously thrilled they have Edwards, Di Iorio, but my god there's been maybe 3or4 good wins since January 1st.

Hopefully 2025 is more enjoyable.

Good push back from Canda.... I'd personally like to see less of Easton Cowan and more Mckenna.... Cowan plays so much and doesn't do a whole lot.

Didn't think it was possible but Dave Cameron is doing a substantially worse job at coaching Canada than Letang did.

This is freaking embarrassing. Team has 0 cohesion, no discipline, PK sucks, PP even worse & they can't score because all they do is dump and chase.

Truly a disasterclass of coaching.

I watched the first 5 mins of the game and then flipped it to the WJC. Call on the Sim goal was bad. He clearly pushed his pad. They've lost 9 in a row to London. I was expecting a loss but going down 9-3 is not acceptable. PK and goaltending have to be a lot better if they're going to have a chance tomorrow. Happy new year to you all! Hopefully 2025 is a little less painful than 2024

Catton and Mckenna should get Cowan and ritchies minutes. They get more and better chances with less minutes. Those two and molendyk should be on 1st powerplay together. Push Cowan to the second powerplay.

How did he even get the job? Most people know he's not a good coach

Not saying Cameron is a good coach and is definitely doing a bad job in this tourney. (Management didn’t help with the selections tho). But he does have two U20 gold medals and two silver medals, a world championship gold medal, named CHL and OHL coach of the year before and experience as a coach in the NHL. Definitely has a somewhat decent track record.

Again I never said he was doing a good job at all, just that he has had success in this tournament and in junior hockey in the past. I still think there should be more skilled players there. Can’t score, maybe bring a guy who has 30 goals in 30 games. Powerplay struggling maybe bring a defenceman who had 96 points in the O last year.
