Concern on putting all 16 year olds on pp1 would be losing a kid like wainwright to NCAA just because he is second fiddle to Rookies, think that would irritate me quite a bit if I was a guy that bled for this team for 4 years now and still no pp1. I'm sorry but he is our best offensive player needs to be in top situation and pp1. I'm fine with 16 year olds on pp2 that's how they develop. Maybe split 16 year olds up on pps
Karimov also needs to start being more minutes PP as well or we will lose him.
Slippery slope with these 16 year old that are really good but I totally agree should be on 3rd line to get better matchups to help us as a whole.

Hoping Wainwright, young stay will be top OAs next year all I'm saying really we need them, since we are not winning this year let's massage them little lol

2023 8th round pick Patrick Quinlan committed to Notre Dame yesterday. Maillet is the only signed goalie for next season. I feel like this move makes it more likely the Sting go out and acquire a veteran goalie in the offseason
Damnit. Didn't expect him to come, but was holding out hope. Grovestine continues to have a great season as he got his 1st OJHL start after stopping 11/12 in relief 2 weeks ago & he stopped 25/26 the other day.

I really do think they might've found something in him. Great showing at rookie camp, was legitimately the best goalie at training camp (Surzycia didn't play to be fair)

But I gotta temper my own expectations as not to long ago I was pumping Chartier's tires after an impressive rookie camp then good 16 yr old season lol.

Not many guys who could be or become available I like, but the two that standout are Barrie & Brantford.

For Barrie it's Hillebrandt (19) & Hrebik (18). Both are legitimate starting caliber goalies. For Brantford it's Leenders (18, not happening lol) & Egorov (18) & he in particular I'd really like.. Already stealing starts from Leenders. Been great for them.

While I'm sure both teams are loving having 2 good goalies it's a development league & as we saw with Gaudreau/Thornton it isn't fair to whichever one becomes the backup when they are clearly an OHL starting goalie level player. Getting Hrebik or Egorov would be my choice. Both be here for 2 more seasons & hopefully would be really good OA goalies in 26-27.

I'd even be fine with it this season honestly. Maillet has looked like a fine OHL goalie (despite what the #s say, D has left him out to dry), but his upside doesn't appear to be starting goalie on a contender like Hrebik/Egorov could be. Thornton was a signed NHL prospect so wouldn't cost as much as NIA gave us, but maybe something similar to Flores to NIA trade which was 2nd round pick + 5th round pick. For a 2 season starter I'd do that & u get ahead of being desperate if Maillet or Grovestine aren't starting caliber come next September.

Lots of things to work out now chartier might not be in the picture for us.
Mailett solid #2 going forward.
We have more work to do upfront with players as well., huge needs for D so we are still in full rebuild swing now.
Record clearly showing it.

Let's hope for some consistant lines with Edwards back in middle and filak on wing where he belongs. Hopefully we have something decent and a new look pp..

Another good night for Grovestine. Starting goalie got hurt early & in relief he stopped all 24 shots he faced to get another W.

In 3 appearances he's 3-0 with a 0.968 sv% & a 0.87 GAA. Been an insane first 2 weeks in the OJHL for him.

Biggest game of the year (so far) today vs Ottawa. Sounds silly to call a November game a must-win, but this is that IMO. Ottawa looks to be just a decent team this year. Full week of practice with all the Fs back. Hopefully Fischer is back like expected but TBD on that.

Even if he's not they gotta come out desperate & play a full 60. Unlikely to win vs Barrie then a big division game vs Flint before Brampton & Saginaw who's killed us this year.

Lose this & who knows what this streak could become. Gotta win it.

Brampton hasn't killed anyone this year lol so this is win possible game.
1000% tonight is a must win, and knowing how Letang thinks just like every other coach in league, I'm sure he is going to totally throw lines in a blender and go with something like this lol

Wainwright Johnston (huge reward for bad team play and weak play) Edwards

Di iorio doucette filak

Kostuch and the rest anyone's guess here with 3rd and 4th getting tiring with constant changes and no chance for chemistry on any line.

Going with 7 D and fisher is 7th hopefully

Surzycia goes tonight in most win scenario. Loses and we see some interesting trades/signings until deadline.

I don't know if its huge. He wasn't exactly lighting it up in BC. It will be helpful, but I don't expect this to be a game changer
We'll see. Pridham who's 19 & an NHL 3rd round pick had 2 more points in 8 less games than Beamish. Obviously still means he would've had 6-7-8 more points, but 2 years older, fairly high NHL pick.

Pridham has come in & immediately looked like a top line player for Kitchener.

Beamish also is coming off a phenomenal GOJHL rookie season. Absolutely tore it up w/fort Erie winning the playoffs. Seemed to be finding his footing in the BCHL with 3G/1A in his last 7 games too.

Not saying I expect Beamish to be a superstar or anything. But he should be a nice boost for this season & hopefully a pretty big part of their core for next yr. Do wish he wasn't commited for 26-27 tho! Wonder how hard it is for kids to push back there commitments 1 season or if they are even able too.

Interesting to note. Dallys Hibbert (D) who had a strong camp is listed on the roster on the OHL website.

Could be a typo, or maybe Sarnia has signed him too. 14 points in 17 games with Caledonia. Have him listed as 5'11 but at camp he looked easily bigger than that.

1 more week for Fischer I heard as well. See if that's the case or not.

With Beamish coming now. I wonder if we see a trade soon. Cause I highly doubt he's coming to play on the 4th line.

Yah it's a bit weird now. 15Fs. As I said the other day they had a pretty locked in top-9..

For me-
Send Chamberlain to Strathroy
Give Hall a couple weeks & if he isn't showing much cut ties.
Luecke idk. Clearly isnt anything more than a 4th liner, but still only 17.

I'm really, badly hoping Letang's solution to adding another T9 F isn't sending Karimov or Kostuch to line 4.. But if I had to guess it will be..

I'd be looking to move one of the OA Fs. I like them both a lot, but neither will be back obviously & I'd rather move 1 than a U17 play L4 & be upset.

Johnston should be the choice if they wont trade someone, but would they really put him L4 after spending a solid asset for him? I have my doubts.

Good problem to have in a way as it shows they have some depth, but I want nothing to do with a promising player playing 7 minutes a night.

Expect a showcase of few forwards to drum up interest like johnston and kostuch other than kostuch being 1st rounder donr see much this year

Will be interesting with addition of beamish but good for us as beamish will be top 6

Kale Osipenko (7th round pick) put up a 33 save shutout in the EOJHL (Jr. B in Ottawa) last night. He has a .910 save percentage in 10 starts. Good to see that we're building up some depth in net. Hard to say if either will be a factor next season but it's good to have guys who will push your regulars in camp.

Hibbert is listed at 6'2" and 176 lbs on the OHL website now. I remember him being a very steady presence at camp. Hopefully he can come in and make a good impression. No Omeri again so I'm guessing he got hurt after delivering that huge hit in Saginaw
