Sandin will be a better (all around) defenseman then Reilly within 2 years

People aren't really appreciating how good Sandin already is. The Leafs generate shot attempts, shots, scoring chances, and high danger chances at a better rate with Sandin on the ice than any other defenseman. He's also much better defensively than he gets credit for and stepped up in a massive way when Rielly/Brodie were out and the team leaned on him heavily

Rielly is also quite a bit worse than he gets credit for

Sandin get the easiest matchup amount all regular, nobody amount regular had been more protected than sandin by keeping him away of opposite 1st line and sometime against most physical too. he started the most offensive faceoff.

Yeah if you only watching stats, you can think he made the leafs better but when you watch whats happening on the oce, you can see its keefe who made look sandin better by using him in kind of situation he was able to help the team...

In a team who was +146 in goal differential since he played in the NHL and where he played like a 6th D

Like as comparaison Dahlin played in a top 4 if not like #1 in a team who had a differential of -170

Im just notnsure jow much value +/- really bring...

I am not going to disagree with you on what you're stating but you might be missing the bigger picture.

There were 70 defensemen drafted in 2018.
Sandin is amongst the 11 who have played over 100 games.

Just my guess, but I'd think most of them are going to get better.
