Maple Leafs recall Dakota Mermis, assign Marshall Rifai to Marlies

Stolarz gets the net, expecting a low score/low event boring win

Game feels like a trap. We haven’t won 6 straight this season. We had won 5 in a row once before. I’m gonna say they are tired from last night and play even worse than yesterday. I see a loss and the board losing it.
Come on. The leafs could play about two minutes of this game and win. It will never be in doubt.

San Jose has surrendered 61 goals in their last 13 games. They have two wins in their last 19 games.

They are last in points, last in goals against, 4th last in goals for, 8th worse in PP%, 9th worst PK.

In all seriousness, just show up on time, and this should be a win. Practice the PK, get some goals, and some momentum. Also, please shore up the D, it was terrible against the Penguins.

One thing that has become clear is how important Stolarz and Tanev are to this teams success.

Start of the season till now, both have been consistently great.

Treliving gets some criticisms and some of his deals aren't ageing well but adding these two players was huge.

Jarnkrok should be back tonight. It'll be interest to see how he does.

Interested as well and hoping for the best.

Unfortunately, Tre only has 2 games before Friday to observe how well Jankrok's going to do with all that time off. Then he'll have to make a quick decision if Jarnkrok's play alters the game plan heading into the trade deadline.

Completely agree. I'm also happy that Stolarz isn't mentioned in trade ideas on the trade thread anymore. It was tough reading those proposals. LOL

This has all the makings of a trap game. Just coming off a road trip. 1 game back at home against the worst team in the league and then going back on the road for another trip.

I hope I am wrong.

Alex Steeves: Can’t Crack the Lineup and Sent to Minors

Alex Steeves had his chance and didn’t (at least this time) make it count. On Sunday, he was reassigned to the American Hockey League (AHL) Toronto Marlies. The 25-year-old forward made a small impact with the Maple Leafs, contributing a goal and an assist in three games after being called up on Feb. 18. Steeves returns to the Marlies, where he has been a standout this season. He leads the AHL in goals with 29, adding 17 assists in 40 games.

From a roster management perspective, I get this.. but he's better than Dewar or Reaves as a fourth liner, and likely deserves a shot higher up in the lineup. He's got to be a bit frustrated... two points in three games, what has anyone who will play on the fourth line done lately?

Don't worry, you are wrong.

Errr, the franchise hasn't even been to a Stanley Cup final since 1967, Leaf fans have a high pain tolerance, we can take it!

As it were I enjoy the Amazon Prime Games, They have done a fairly emulate job in the presentation thus far and I enjoy hearing different voices and assessments.

I would be really interested to know the data on new accounts and/or revenue Amazon has realized since they purchased these games. American companies are so much better at attracting new customers because they operate in a far more competitive marketplace than Canadian-only corporations.

It costs many multiples trying to obtain a new customer than it does to retain them. So one can imagine paying for the monthly Prime account, not feeling the value in it after watching the same movies, but then seeing strategically spaced games on Mondays which are only shown on Prime and the person says "meh, I guess I can keep it for another month (or three).

Those additional non-Leaf games outside of the market can also benefit the NHL also. Watching two West coast teams play when one normally wouldn't care but they have some time to kill on a Monday can't hurt the NHL marketing efforts or Amazon ad revenue.

He's been injured, but looks like he'll be in tonight. ->> Sharks’ Macklin Celebrini says he’ll play vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

That makes no sense, Steeves nor Reaves play anywhere close to 20 minutes.
