Most likely Williams, Stoll and Regehr's last game as King. Sad in a way because of what we accomplished with them, but it's time to move on.

They'll be back in the playoffs next year. A long off season will do them a lot of good. Sucks that they don't get the chance to defend the Cup, but we can't get down too hard on them for what they brought for 3 straight seasons. They'll come back hungrier, looking to prove this season was just a glitch.

Williams will get $5-6M in the off season from an eastern team and cash out on his last NHL contract just like Willie Mitchell, and you can't fault them for doing so.

Looked like that may have been his last celebration with his LA teammates.

i can't blame DL for opting to keep Williams at the trade deadline

but knowing what we know now

imagine the haul we could have gotten for him; i would think would be around a 1st and a prospect

but i know it wouldn't have been logical to trade him then

I think this is a poor word choice. They had the chance to defend the Cup and didn't.
I agree with your point that a rest will probably see a rejuvenated kings team next year that will probably make the playoffs. Too early to say they will be cup contenders again as windows shut really fast and really abruptly in the nhl and the offseason will bring changes to so many teams and I think the west will only get even tougher as more of these young teams mature.

The Kings team that played today was the one we were all hoping we saw on the last roadtrip. Makes that EDM loss hurt even more after watching them show up and play today.

Just a feeling that Williams will be with the Habs or Sens next year.
