The Sharks do have a really interesting pool of prospects now. Bystedt, Eklund, Celebrini, Smith, Chernysov, Mukhamadullin, Askarov, Guschin, Halttunen. Could end up being a contender in a couple of years only.

The franchise with the most Russian prospects perhaps?
Gushchin, Bordeleau, and Haltunnen probably are more wildcards than legit prospects with potential but otherwise yes...just need to add a top-3 pick in 2025 + top-10 pick in 2026 and then the rebuild will be completed with target of maybe making the playoffs in 2028?

Yeah Halttunen is for sure a wildcard. Probably the biggest risk of "busting".
Top9 potential with needed PP time to shine. But could end up as a Liiga player too. Needs to work on his skill imo. Hard shot yes, but he needs speed and some skill together with that typical Finnish two-way thinking and he could end up decent. But I don't see him becoming successful as your typical bottom 6 guy at the NHL level. Therefor I think you calling him a wildcard is spot on.
