Unfortunately the guy can’t stay healthy. 2-3 years in a row now, he’s missed significant time. Unfortunately for the Avs, he is the player most likely to have been moved to round out their roster this season.
The problem is, teams will now have a bit of a red flag on him. His upside isn’t what a Chychrun is. So the injuries aren’t going to be overlooked as much.
Most teams would probably want to see a nice stretch from him before pulling the trigger. These $5 million deals are the type that add up real quick, and it’s tough having a player who’s always nicked up.
Right now? Probably lucky to get a 2nd rounder. Maybe they can flip him for a Dvorak, or another tweener type C with similar issues or a contract issue. I’d hold onto him for now and hope he comes around. Then at the deadline see what they can get.
