No worries! It's an important rule for us back here in Europe that wants to keep our players for as long as possible, it only make sense that it's not as well known in NA.

Lets agree to disagree. Lewis has been one of my least favorite players. Actually have never liked him and wish he'd be bought out but likely is he peddled at the deadline or let go when the 2020 season finished...Kings need the room for youngsters and Lewis is in the way!

How you feel about Lewis is irrelevant in terms of whether or not he was an overall successful selection. There ended up being better players that could've been taken with that pick, but you can say that about a lot of the players that were taken before Lewis, and at least Lewis has been in the league for 600+ games. Only 46 players from the draft have played the equivalent of 2 full NHL seasons, and Lewis has consistently been on an NHL roster for 9 years. He's not great, but he's done something right.

I'm tired of fighting the fight over the years, but it only exists because people erroneously believe our bottom six sucks/has sucked, and Lewis is a prominent part of our bottom six, therefore Lewis sucks and is a problem.

The argument makes sense but the premise is completely wrong.

When the Kings had a good bottom six they won championships, even in 2013 when the Kings had 0 ES goals from bottom six players in the playoffs they still made the WCF.

In the following years, the majority of the players who anchored the Kings bottom six literally ended up out of the NHL immediately after leaving the Kings, so that tells me it was largely a non-NHL caliber group. But I think Lewis would have to be considered the best of that group and proved to be an effective bottom six player. It wasn't a homerun draft pick but it wasn't a whiff either.

Fagemo was Sweedens best forward this tournament imo. And Sweeden treated him like it. Played him in every big offensive situation and he performed at a very high level. Im guessing he led them in scoring but I haven't checked the stats.

Turcotte...Bjornfot...Kaliyev....Fagemo ...Parik....Spence...Nousiainen 7 outstanding picks.

Impressive balance. 3 forwards, 3 defensemen, 1 goalie. Already signed Bjornfot and Fagemo. Parik coming to play for Spokane. Turcotte going to Wisconsin and playing for Granato and will have Caufield there. Can sign him after this year, possibly. Turcotte, Bjornfot and Fagemo will play and all should make an impact. Kaliyev will need 2 more years of CHL and probably a year in Ontario. He does not have character issues - he wants to be better. The Kings staff will get him where he needs to be. May never be a 2-way forward, but they can teach him to be adequate. I say he puts in the work. The system has Hrenak, Ingham and Kehler...but Parik may have higher upside and time will tell. Ranford has a lot of prospects to work with. I like that Parik will be a 2 hour flight away and they can work with him closely. Spence made huge leap last year and this should be an iteresting year for him...Nousiainen is an emerging talent. I am just going off memory and only recall Doyle and Andre Lee from here. Good stories on both of them, too. Longshots of course.

This will be the most interesting prospects year, EVER. Players close to making it this year: Kupari, Anderson-Doyle, Kale Clague, Michael Anderson...and pro career starts for Durzi and Phillips.
And Grundstrom making the Kings. Then there's still CHL veterans like Thomas and Dudas. And IF Vilardi plays at any time, that will be huge. Then keeping tabs on the 9 picks from this draft. '
I love that Bjornfot and Fagemo signed. The Kings control them and they can both be here next year and even compete for spots. Oh, and forgot about Sodergran. He may have a big season too.

This was an Al Murray draft and DL just took what was given to him. Many thought he was taken too high. I look at this pick the same way I look at the Boyle pick in 2003. Murray falling in love with a player even though there were better players available.
