Yes because our RW depth is awful.

We went from Buch, Kakko, Kravtsov and Blackwell to Kakko, Gauthier and Reaves...

R.Smith isn't that old. We have the capspace and we barely got any RW's...

Hope he's the same player when he comes back, lots of guys can be tentative and for a guy who plays like him balls to the wall that's especially tough.

He really had some nice chemistry on that top line and could have shown his value to the Rangers and league as a complimentary top 6 player and gotten a nice extension. Now who knows.

Gauthier with CK and Mika is how I would draw it up, he's looked better recently and deserves the chance to make a real impact. Later in the season Laf should get another look but don't blow his confidence now putting him on the top line again, just as he's getting comfortable playing against the weaker D on our 3rd line.

Might end up dealing Kravtsov's rights ahead of schedule for a lesser talent who can plug a hole. What a mess. I was trying to be OK with Blais as the return for Buch and was definitely appreciating his game... and now we have neither. Hard to swallow.

Devastating loss. Here's hoping he can make a full recovery and still has an NHL career to come back to.

Also, this is just salt in the wound of how immature Krav turned out to be. Just a rough situation all around.

We went from having way too much depth on wing last year, to feeling a bit light on the right side now. I do think the team is deep enough to weather this storm as is, but I also think they should ideally be shopping for a decent rental from here on out on the right side.

You can't really look at it this way. It could have been Buch who got slew-footed instead on that play if he were in the lineup.
