Reinhart for Hanifin was thrown out and generally favored by both teams. I'd still make that deal, Canes could use another top young forward and Slavin's development would mitigate the loss of Hanifin.

Hanifin has come out flying for Carolina though this season...

Hes too young and could go either way. Its very difficult to gauge his value in the long term.

I wouldnt pay 2nd overall prices for him and the Sabres would never accept a discount. I think the effort is moot at this stage.

First pairing, youngish Left Shot D, preferably someone who's skillset complements Risolainen.

Hanifin would be intriguing.

Otherwise forgetaboutit.

Sounds like a good basis to a deal, but I'd probably be a little reluctant from the Canes side. Rask has played well, Aho has tons of upside, Staal is an excellent shutdown C. Stacked D and solid C seems like a better recipe for success.

I guess it depends what you see as the top end for each player. I see Hanifin being a sure fire top pair defender. Not sure I see Reinhart being a legit 1C.

Reinhart reminds of Bergeron, doubt he'll ever reach that level but such a smart player.

Hanifin- Reinhart is a deal that makes some sense for both teams.

Hanifin- Ristolainen top pairing would be pretty scary and Carolina could build up their top6 around Rask and Reinhart, with guys like Aho, Skinner, TT supporting them.

Yea but Slavin is a fair amount better and in my opinion will continue to be better.

Hanifin-Faulk
Slavin-McKeown
Fleury-?

Heck of a start to a defense, although if you think Slavin can handle LHD1 and Fleury can eventually handle LHD2, then you can deal from an area of strength in Hanifin...although I think you could do better then Reinhart - not discounting him or anything but just think you can get more.

Pesce is a top 4 dmen for the canes, a good player who is young. Man I really want the leafs to aquire him but don't think the canes are shopping him.

Reinhart's floor is a 1w/2c, ceiling is low to mid range 1c. I'd agree that if Hanafin was offered you wouldn't get higher potential than Reinhart but could get someone more developed.

Don't forget Jake Bean.

Hanifin makes the most sense. He's going to be a stud, and he's already starting to hold his own, being paired with Nakladal, Dahlbeck, and now Murphy while getting 6pts in 8games.

But it would be dealing from a position of strength for us.

Skins - Rask - Stemp
Aho - Rein - Lindy
Stalberg - Staal - PDG
Nord - McC - Bickell

Slavin - Pesce
Hainsey - Faulk
Fluery - Murphy

Would do this, definitely. And I think Reinhart is on his way to being a stud.

Reinhart for Hanifin is something that could work. I'm intrigued. I'd say Hanifin would have more value league wide then Reinhart, so I'd think Buffalo would be adding a pick as well.

Sounds like you should target Ryan Murray. Jackets need a C like Sam Reinhart.

I 2nd this notion. I love Murray and he is a U23 proven top pair defender who was pushed to be the #3 because Werenski establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with. I would under 95% of most circumstances never give up Murray because the day he was drafted he was the best D we ever had until that point but finally having strength on our back end we desperately need help down the middle.

Pesce is missing. Plus you can add Bean in the future.

Reinhart for Hanifin looks like a good deal for both teams.

curious how close a tanev+Virtanen for reinhart+kane is.

Obviously Tanev hold a fair more value than kane as reinhart has over Virtanen I guess the question is what picks need to be added to offset the value.

canucks obviously are seeking more offence which this deal helps. we loose out a top dman but stetcher is able to help fill the void for now. reinhart has the potential to form a great 1-2 punch at C with Bo for the future.

Havent been impressed by Rienhart. Hes not that type of player who can dominate on his own. He needs good linemates to put up points.
