I'm very jealous of players succeeding and pressing on, despite their team being shit. Nevermind that the Sharks have committed to a drastic resbuild where they will pick 1OA with two other picks in the first round.

I'm looking forward to more years of not making the playoffs and being the 5th place loser, but certainly not the worst team out there, while our kids get scratched and continue to play with 4th liners.

LGR!

If we were in the shoes of the Sharks no one here would be happy that we are where we are because our top picks are doing well. Everyone will be complaining after every loss and we'd have two threads of positivity of Celebrini and Will Smith. Fans that think being a bottom of the barrel team for years on end will have Rangers fans be patient and excited about the future are the same people that think Politicians keep their promises. It's absolutely absurd. Everyone here would be miserable.

the sharks have 3 young guys their fans have to enjoy watching for perhaps the next decade. what do we have?

The Sabres have had plenty of good players too. NO ONE here would be happy about the team even if we had these young players if were a bottom of the barrel team for 5 years. It's absolutely laughable to be jealous of the Sharks. When we did our short term rebuild and got our two top picks other than the day of the lottery and maybe the offseason no one was overly optimistic. We were trashing Laf and Kakko from their rookie seasons. This jealousy of the Sharks as if our fanbase would be ok with being in their position is hilarious. Every thread would be how terrible we are. The Rangers board doesn't do optimism. We literally had a Presidents' Trophy winning final four team a year ago and every thread read like we were watching a last place team. Just laughable to pretend that this board would be happy if we were in the shoes of the Sharks. Call me when they're actually good.

Mas0674 would be ecstatic

Hank said something along the lines of "they aren't even celebrating when they score" and I couldn't agree more. They are just going through the motions. It's a total mutiny. I have no idea what the hell is going on behind the scenes but it is rotten.
Yeah, there's definitely a cancer that needs to be cut out.

If it's Laviolette, for all his boneheaded dinosaur hockey man shit, that reflects far worse on the players than it does on Lavi. Even if it's Drury they're mad it, again, it reflects far worse on the players than it does on Drury. This group is weak. They didn't like their GM making some moves and comments in freaking November and they gave up on the season. Oh boo hoo he waived our overpaid 4th liner without telling him first - who gives a shit? Goodrow was overcompensated for what he did here - in the words of Don Draper "That's what the money is for."

Do these guys want to win? Do they have any pride at all? To give up and play this poorly for this long has just been pathetic.

Personally I'd try and trade everyone on this team except for Panarin, Fox and Shesterkin.

I dont think so. The sharks improved from last year and have a bunch of stud forwards who are young including 2 centers. Another top 3 draft pick this year where maybe they can snag a top pairing dman. And a great goalie prospect.

They are trending upwards and it is year what 3 where they really embraced the rebuild.

Next year i think they will make a bigger jump to about 24th in the league. And then fight for a wildcard in 27.

That team knows where it is, embraces it and are on a good track.

Rangers fans were behind the rebuild, but then management did the dumbest thing and stopped after 2 years. And now we are solidly in no mans land with no real direction and bad contracts.

I will say the order of how bad it looks is.

1) Players

2) Laviolette

3) Drury

Drury's problem is the bad moves like Igor's contract and the arrogance of Soucy. Getting out of bad contracts even if gave them out in the first place is the GM's job. Players having a mutiny over a GM doing his job is the most unprofessional thing I've ever seen in sports. Laviolette is to blame because a huge part of the coach's job is culture and harmony in the locker room, arguably NHL coaches aren't even a big factor in Xs and Os. Drury can go for his bad moves. But f*** the players and Laviolette.

We are now in no man's land that is true but we had a team that was actually way better than average for three straight years even if ultimitely that ceiling was capped below a cup. Even if the Sharks do improve there's no guarantee they even reach the level we reached much less a real Stanley Cup contender. I remember excitement about the draft capital and getting Laf/Kakko, in season I don't remember this amazing contentment from Rangers fans during their playoff-less seasons. We weren't even patient with Laf when he started his career pointless in like 7. We weren't particularly patient with Kakko either. Our position now is shit. And if you want to say the Sharks are in a better position than we currently are fine. But pretending like everything would be honky dory if we just took their route is just grass is always greener syndrome. The only player on the Sharks I'm even jealous of is Celebrini and he's more Toews than Crosby. We have Will Smith at home.
