AAV is a little high based on the player Samwise has been so far, but if he keeps developing well this gamble should pay off nicely in the later stages of this deal. Good move from Joe; this is the kind of player I have no qualms about giving term to.

That's the way to do it. We have cap room to work with at the beginning of the contract. It'll likely be amazing cap value by the end of the contract when the cap situation for the Avs might be tighter.

I dunno, he's still locked up on his ELC for the 19/20 season. By the 20/21 season he'll definitely be worth at least 5 per year.
