Sam Bennett

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Florida still has the be the massive favorites to come out of the East. I don't think getting a few futures is worth trading him for, even if it is "efficient asset management".

You think so? Two back to back finals plus a compressed schedule and half the team in the 4 nations might make it hard. Just for the wear and tear alone

When was the last 3 full 82 game season finalosts?

Full 82 game season makes it decades

If you look only at 2 SCF + 1 CF minimum sample

1) 2020-2022 tampa with 69-71, 56 and 82 game seasons

2) 2013-2015 Hawks with SCF Win (48 games), WCF G7 loss (82 game season) and SCF win (82 game season)

Before that the 83 to 85 Oilers made three straight Cup finals winning 2 in full 80+ game seasons but league was smaller back then

Isles dynasty in the early 80s also ddi this

Panthers have their work cut out for them but the Eastern Conference being open would still give reason to expect an ECF run at minimum if they are clicking and healtht

One thing to consider is the Panthers travel schedule has been brutal to start the year, good news is that they will travel far less towards the end of the year. So this bodes well for fatigue etc.. Also Maurice was really good last year at resting players down the stretch and taking the foot off of the gas pedal until it is necessary, I expect a ton of babysitting again this year to get these guys rested for the playoffs.

Only 1 remaining game outside of EST for the stretch drive.

Why tf would he leave Ft. Lauderdale, flip flops, golf carts and championships to go to either of those places?

Same reason anyone leaves their team in free agency. Because someone overpaid the ever living f*** out of them.

Bennett will stay in Florida. He’s aware of how unstable an NHL career can be having been jerked around in Calgary by Treliving and his litany of idiot coaching hires. Unless Zito gives him an insulting offer, I can’t see him leaving

Also all the Toronto rumours are bewildering. This guy will not play for Treliving lol

He easily gets $8.5-9M & the Panthers won't the ones signing that contract.
8.5M-9M for a 40-50 point center is a buyout worthy contract the moment its signed.

Career avg 40 point C per 82 games, career high 49 points. I'd be shocked if anyone gave him over 7.5M. I cant see it taking more than 7M to put pen to paper

I hope Florida signs him. I’ll never forget, I believe it was his rookie year he scored an amazing goal against my team, the Penguins. I’ve been a big fan ever since. I started to lose a little hope with his struggles in Calgary, but it’s been amazing to see the player he’s become.

If he does reach free agency, he’s the type of player that might have offers from 31 other teams.
