I would imagine Chyrchun is more of a comparable to Ekblad, although he is younger and I assume has less of an injury history... Still, the amount is CRAZY, and I'm just hoping that Ekblad feels so guilty about f***ing over his team with the PEDs that he signs whatever Zito waves in his face.
As for Bennett, I'm hoping that he re-signs for something like 7m x8. I was hoping for 6m x 5 years but that seems a bit of a pipe dream given the cap rise and demand. Unless he wants to go back to Ontario for family reasons as @CheckingLineCenter mentions, I'm fairly confident he stays. He's had bad experiences in Calgary with the pressure of expectations on him, and most players tend to stay with their teams if they've had anything resembling success on them. So cheering here for inertia!
