We’ve seen other “hot” assistants end up on the firing line the next season, like Bobby Slowik. This may be his one and only chance to get a HC gig.

Plus with the substantial raise in money. He can’t turn this down.

None of us would.

This is exactly it. His values at an ll time high and who knows, maybe the Eagles offence tanks next year and he gets canned or no longer looks like the next great coach.

Hard to turn down a massive raise on a guaranteed deal too.

Not to mention this already happened to him. His stock kept falling after around halfway through 2021 when the league caught onto his route concepts which led to his eventual dismissal from Dallas. Moore is the definition of the middle tier of a playcaller. Doesn't elevate his roster and isn't with the Press Taylors and Shane Waldrons of the world. The Eagles are known for being ruthless with underachievement. New Orleans was his only interview besides Dallas and New Orleans itself isn't very desired, so the misfits work with each other until Loomis is done and/or the Saints are finally doing the full house clean and not the gradual pull back to not worsen their cap situation.

Not really sure what to think because mainly you never know who is a good coach and a good coordinator until they get the spot. Have to wait and see who fills the other spots

It's usually difficult to say who'll be a good HC or not when they're initially hired. Moore seems to have a good offensive background but we'll see about all the leadership and CEO type of stuff required.

Saints are arguably the worst situation in the league. Before you even get to the roster it starts with their ownership and management. Then you get to the terrible cap situation and roster. Who are the building blocks or potential blue chippers on that team? Erik McCoy? Is that it? Chris Olave would be if he could stay healthy but his situation is very concerning. There's a long way to go to build a sustainable winner there.

New Orleans is like 80 mil over the cap every year

not sure how Loomis was able to pull that long con lol

There are only so many gigs available, and a coaching candidate only has so long of a shelf life, but man alive this looks to be the biggest set to fail gig in recent history. Hope for his sake he got a load of guaranteed dough.

The NFC South sucks so even with the cap crunch, he'll have a chance. Problem is all the good assistants are gone
He should be given time for the GM to turn over the roster and ride out the dead cap charges over the next 2-3 seasons.
