As far as the Parekh major and 1 game that was consistent with what Bilecki just got from the Rangers (stick up somewhat in self defense against a charging player). Bilecki as a rookie has no history. Has Parekh been suspended before?

Guo swing is right up there with Boulton's. Was contact made? What is Guo's rap sheet (I honestly don't know). If contact wasn't made and/or he hasn't a lengthy history it aligns with the league's punishment on Ryder.

Don't need to get me started on the league's ineptitude towards repeat offenders. Just that these 2 incidents were of similar severity and got the same punishment.
Looking at the video, I don't see the player charging at Parekh. He was just kind of standing there. In typical Parekh fashion once the Windsor player gave im a good right jab to the face Parekh fell like a sack of flour. Honestly despite his skill, I would not want that guy on my team.

Any thoughts on whether Saginaw will be buyers, sellers or just stand pat this year?

Probably DD has to see what are his available options and see what Chernyshov brings to the team. If we are playing well his decision is then.
I would build around the 8 or 9 guys that are 07 and 08s. Trade Parekh Hay Mangone get some picks back and still make the playoffs and develop those rookies.

I've been on record for a while now about trading Parekh this year... I still think that is the right move to make.

We will need to get some depth on defense likely players who are a casualty of playing time and need a new location.

Other than that unless someone makes a good offer for a faceoff guy like Hay I don't see many other moves because we don't have many picks and I don't think we should trade our young players

Parekh and Misa both left off the invite list for Canada's WJC team. Bad break for them but selfishly this means we get them for the entirety of the WJC window. Hopefully very motivated as well.

May have to do with Suspensions Parekh has received this year for stick work. (can't have that undiscipline during the Tournament) and Misa's age.

Yeah Parekh I understand. Misa seems a bit weird to not even invite. They invited Mckenna and Schafer.
Hard to crack it at 17. I would say that on this team Schafer is closer to a top defenseman than Misa is a top forward. Don't feel Canada's blueline depth is fantastic.

I also feel Schafer is closer to being the first overall pick than Misa. Parekh too much of a sideshow and defensive liability to go.

Parekh just brings too much drama to the club, love his hockey IQ with the puck though. Clearly his shenanigans have got him left off the invites which was a surprise to me.

Don't think you can use the Misa age excuse at this point. Sure he is 17 but he is in his third OHL season so that is more important than his age. I can only think that HC is thinking Misa has to be a top 6 forward and will not fit a bottom 6 role. But the kid has done everything to at worst get an invite, something seems a bit off with him not even getting that. He certainly deserves better especially since he was one of Canada's better players at the Hlinka last year as an underage player.

Wasn’t it Owen Tippet who got suspended for shooting a foam puck into the crowd? ECHL guy got suspended for shooting a chicken nugget. There usually is zero wiggle room here.

Edit: yeah Owen got a game for the foam puck. Will have to see what Misa gets.
Yeah, a kid dropped his foam puck for the puck drop as the players were leaving the ice. Tippy got tossed that game and was issued a five gamer but was later reduced to one.

A threat to society? No.

But about as harmful as a foam puck, precedent has been set. Plus, it's a kids Christmas present.. what was he thinking?

Misa wasn’t, 17 years old and this is not his proudest moment but give it a shake it’s lesson learned no flipping teddy’s. Take your foot off his neck.

Well it was the teddy bear toss night, maybe he didn't understand they only go one way lol.
Really can't see it worth much of a suspension.

It’s a stupid way to get suspended but that doesn’t change the fact that other guys have been suspended for similar shit such as in the echl with a chicken nugget, Owen Beck shooting a foam puck over I believe and there’s another one I can’t think of. Point is shit happens and you move on from it. Stupid thing to do but I don’t believe he would’ve done it had he known it would be a suspension. I predict somewhere between 2-5 games. You live and you learn.

Next years spirit team will be really good again!
I doubt that. They won’t be awful but like a 7-9 seed. Just will be a lot of players that will have to grow into more important roles. It will just be interesting to watch them grow their game. Won’t expect much win wise from them.
