Just build the stadium and sell the team Stu. Christ alive I am so sick of the Rays being a poverty franchise. If you ever need to know who we are trading next just ask who is gonna a make even $10 million
My beef is with how often our guys blow out their arms, we need all the help we can get. If we can't afford to pay both Springs and a mediocre catcher then what the hell are we doing? Either sell the team or bring on another minority owner so we don't dismantle the whole roster as soon as it hits $80 millionThere's still Baz, Bradley, Littell, McClanahan, Pepiot and Rasmussen as starters. Obviously only 1 lefty in that group and he didn't pitch last season so that's an issue. But Springs money went to upgrade the C which was a bigger need than a 32 year old starter with recent health issues signed for the next 3 seasons. I don't think Boyle will ever become a legit starter with his command issues but could be a high leverage reliever, plus a high pick never hurts.

I'm basically counting the days til we sell off Yandy too and call it progress
I'm not disagreeing with any of your assessments but I am way too burned out on 18 years to care that you are likely right. The burnout says "Thank goodness free agents, paying our own guys, trading prospects for legitimate starting help and drafting something other than shortstops isn't any kind of an option"Boyle won't be able to match Springs innings but I think they can utilize him well and get a lot out of him. If they can get him into spring training and work on the command I think he can be a dominate 3 innings guy every 4th or 5th day. Springs will probably get 150 innings while Boyle 75 or more if his command improves.
I would trade Yandy, last year showed that he isn't the same player and best to move him now while he has some value. I just don't see enough in the roster to think they'll compete in the East and the Wild card is gonna be crowded. They need another season till Williams, Isaac and Taylor are closer. They also need outfield help badly, that unit is near bottom of the league.
I’m going to call them Sacramento specifically because John Fisher doesn’t want us to. In a proper North American society, we have location identifiersI thought we were going with ATH for the A's as they will simply be known as Athletics during their Sacramento time.
