Good game by your team. On another night you would've had 3-4 goals. Thompson and Dahlin in particular seemed to not be able to pick the corners then they had wide open chances. I agree with the poster above who said that you missed Greenway or someone similar who could live in the paint and bang in a rebound. Basically, a lot to like in that game for the Sabres. Lost in the Gustavsson SO was that your goalie was just as good- he had zero chance on a well executed 4 on 1 involving Kaprizov, Boldy, Faber, and JEE....exactly the guys you don't want to see in that situation.

Bottom line is that you played a really good game, and deserved at least a point. Good to see the excellent goaltending.

There were 3-4 routine penalties on the Wild that went uncalled. Foligno hammering Quinn to the ice after the whistle being the most blatant.

I wasn't happy to see the 4th line get 2 shifts in the final 10 minutes while down a goal. Doesn't Lindy believe in shortening the bench in a situation like that?

I think the most blatant was the too many men missed call. It isn’t even a judgement call, inexcusable from the refs.

I couldn't watch the game, so it's hard for me to say. Joki is again the worst in metrics, it seems Kulich, Quinn, Krebs and Cozens weren't very noticeable.
Yeah, a lot of those metrics you cite don't match my eye test at all. Joki had a couple of key defensive plays and was just fine. Kulich and Quinn were VERY noticeable and frankly they each could/should have had a goal against a different goalie. Cozens ran hot and cold -- there were some shifts where he looked like his old self and shifts where he was disconnected with everyone. I think he tipped a puck on the PP that just barely missed the right post. Krebs? Seems like every time the last 1.5 years that he's given a chance in an offensive role, he completely falls on his face and did so again tonight.

Well, those are the metrics. I'm just surprised that McLeod played 12 minutes and Cozens almost 20 minutes, I'm not sure that's the right use of players. Krebs 4C, it seems best to him there.
