Good to see there's a Sabres player heading to the net in the offensive zone more often, and guys throwing it towards that guy for a potential tip.

I sure hope giving the puck to opponents 15 feet in front of the Sabres own net isn't part of the new system.

Krebs is looking good, Benson is going to be a problem for teams, Malenstyn looks really nice

The power play is much happier and healthier now that it's been circumcised of Skinner.

Kulich denies an open net goal where UPL was expecting the play to come out the other side. That's big for him showing an ability to defend at this level. The offense will translate, everyone is pretty sure about that.

I have to remind myself that this is the Penguin's B-squad. And we're only tied 1-1 with them.

So they look good against an AHL squad but can't finish.

Quick mid-period thoughts:

UPL lost his positioning on goal 1......it's preseason, not worried. But again -- Joker WAY too high.
PP seemed more competent
Guys are CLEARLY trying to gel yet. Just missing here and there.
