When I saw them give up the 2 goal lead I thought they would collapse and give up but I'm glad they found a way to win even if it was a shootout. Thank god Lehner isn't on this team anymore or that would have been an OTL. Since the Columbus game, they have been much more enjoyable to watch, they look and skate like an NHL team. They are getting around the net and the last 4 games have had my undivided attention. I didn't turn on the game that way but with their play and not being hemmed in their own zone for 12 mins a period anymore, Sabres hockey has become more enjoyable.
Maybe I believe in this team just slightly more than I did before this game but I would like to see a record above .500 going into the All-Star break before I get excited for Buffalo Sabres games again because that Pittsburgh game, that LA King game and that Blue Jackets game is still somewhere in the DNA makeup of this team and it might rear its ugly head again.
UPL is looking like hes finding form again, the 2nd line seems to be getting going, maybe thats the doing of Benson which is actually not a good thing because if Benson goes down then we have no 2nd line again. I would like to see Quinn and Cozens be able to drive a line in Benson's absence. Ruff needs to do more benching to keep the 'standard' going but Ruff seems to have these guys looking like a credible NHL team which shows you why retread hires happen so much. Very rarely do you get a new guy come in and make a name for himself, the most recent one being Sheldon Keefe.
