This D could really used the steady, gritty version of Samuelsson, not the imposter we’ve been subjected to this season.
Hopefully the time in the press box has gotten Sammy's head on straight and we see the good version of him.

As an aside -- I'm at work and thus unable to watch the game live. The Sabres record with me unable to watch live is very, very, very unremarkable (something like 1-4-1).

The twitter backlash over Samuelsson/gilbert is bizarre.

People saying team record in the lineup trumps taking 3 individual penalties? I didn't see them, but sounds very much like they won in spite of him

Well they had to play Byram and Dahlin for 30 minutes, we don't need to repeat that again.

It's not just the 3 penalties. One of the major criticisms that Flames' fans had laid is that Gilbert too often takes himself out of position to make a hit. I could definitely see that creeping more and more into his game the more he played, and it seemed obvious to me on Saturday .

Maybe Gilbert is just one of those guys who plays great immediately upon entering a lineup......but his play starts to deteriorate more as he plays more games in a row.

Which is another reminder of how dumb Adams waiving Reimer was. What an unforced error.

I really wish he would stop trying to force the issue with Levi and just let it play out.
Yeah. I was good with a 1a/1b, but I was wrong. It's clear UPL is running away with the job. Let's just hope Adams corrects his error like he did last season. Better late than never!

I'm leaning toward Levi pushing upl to be himself now band Reimer was a team calculated risk that may be paying off
I hope UPL is pushing Levi to be better. If not, Beast boy could be outta here as soon as this summer.

UPL as a durable #1 makes Levi expendable.

There was the Flame goal where Byram was left alone and Gilbert was engaged out over the blueline.

People are fools. They loved the accountability of removing Sammy from the lineup, but don't want the accountability of Gilbert being removed for a very poor game.

In the end accountability only means something if it is within the realm of being fare. Gilbert being scratched is fare and Sammy being given an opportunity post-scratching is also fair. I find it baffling that there seems to be Sabres fans in other parts of the internet that never expected Sammy to get another opportunity.

I think it's like upl after surgery took two years , Quinn is slowly getting his confidence to play freer, not sure it's totally fair to rag Sammy out , I'm all in for joki sitting as he doesn't play smart trusting your burst or or body after injury deserves patience as it tends to just click and all of your timing adjusts and you no longer looking like a skating shy turd.

look at von Miller just as he was getting pressure he went back to invisible without reps cozens is getting reps and has taken him a year to flash as we've remembered it's a fine line look at tage holding on to the puck and game slowing down w trust and reps to bury his one timer as well

patience ( on all fronts I see progress)

but if they don't hit , finish checks and battles play without fear like Benson19 year old then fook em enjoy the press box

My least favorite travelling fanbase from personal experiences including fist fights inside and outside of the arenas, hateful comments, and general misbehavior. *shrug*

We've got a few Habs fans right behind us but it seems more like a family, so hopefully no trouble. With the way this month has gone, I'm already ready to throw down
