I’ve been scratching my head wondering…have Sammy and Joker been the problem all along? Minus those two, send Kulich down, add Benny, Gilbert and Bryson and we dominate? I’ll obviously take it but man, it sure confuses the model.

They could be, it'd be odd. Jokiharju was tied for the team lead at +6, so it's not like they were getting beat while he was on the ice. Samuelsson was -3 and the only D who was a negative.

Plus/Minus is a seriously flawed stat, but it's hard to be doing really well in it AND be a reason a team is losing.

My guess is some of this has to do with UPL being +5 GSAA these two games.

For sure, he's struggled early this season while injured but since coming back he's a been a possession improvement over Kulich.
