It's that the core are ALL dumb and aren't in position to make plays. I don't think it's a lack of effort ... just a lack of savvy play. Tage, Cozens, Tuch, Peterka are all out of their element where they are in the lineups. Most of these guys are middle six talents.

He was tied for the league lead in goals before injury and still looks banged up.

Also well known Sabres players value is not high around the league. Can't make deal if no one wants your players either.

I thought before the injury he was playing his best two-way hockey of his career. But yeah, he's been meh AF since returning to the ice.

I tend to agree ... trade him to Utah or something. I'll go back to what I was saying last year and say, you absolutely cannot have Tage and Cozens as your top 2 C's. There has to be a change in these ranks badly.
