Byram for Jimmy Snuggerud?
Blues have Fowler & Broberg on the left side. They need a 2C & RHD better than Faulk.
Byram for Jimmy Snuggerud?
Lol if the Sabres traded Byram because of some stupid charts that someone made for Spence I'd straight up quit being a Sabres fan. Byram at 19 also was pivotal into bringing Colorado a cup while Spence literally has had 2 flipping points in 13 playoff games. He doesn't play soft either like some defenseman.View attachment 1047394

I wouldn't trade Spence straight up for Byram.
And Byram has had 3 concussions? No thanks.
I don't think Spence makes sense for Buffalo anyways.
Seravelli is FOS he has a Sabres narrative initially pushed by JJ agents and is tripling down - basically everything he’s said on then has no basis in truth outside of narratives others want him to push. Even the Sabres Twitter insiders have called bs on him and things like them even coming close to wanting to trade JJ at the deadlineSaravelli on local van sports radio saying the Sabres might be “gauging the market” on all their players, or something close to that. He even dropped Dahlin’s name, which is crazy.
Byram and Paterka should return a really good player in his prime. Providing one is available.
Sure. Whatever. Personally I like all the drama. It’s my Soap Opera.Seravelli is FOS he has a Sabres narrative initially pushed by JJ agents and is tripling down - basically everything he’s said on then has no basis in truth outside of narratives others want him to push. Imo the Sabres should be moving Byram (or Power, if he returns the better player) for the best top six forward that he returns. Would they want Zegras? They already have a couple big boys up front so maybe a smaller playmaker would fit?
Is that a fair value trade: Byram for Zegras?
Assuming BUF can trade Peterka for a RD, would BUF entertain 11OA, 12OA, Bryan Rust for Byram and 9OA? Rust replaces the production of Peterka and adds a leader in the room.
I'm aware hence the desire to get up a few spots. Good chance there are still D available there though. Pens want a center.I think the issue is there's a teir drop within the top 8 or 9 consensus at the draft. Once you get to 11 OA it's a drop in skill/talent.

This is at least a mix. Roster player who can help them now and a nice future. After approximately 146 posts from Sabres fans saying they have no interest in futures in any Byram or Peterka trade, It's going to be funny when the Sabres end up swapping Byram to the Habs for 16 and 17.
Absolutely not.Assuming BUF can trade Peterka for a RD, would BUF entertain 11OA, 12OA, Bryan Rust for Byram and 9OA? Rust replaces the production of Peterka and adds a leader in the room.
Most I'd be willing to offer for Rust is Jack Quinn.Assuming BUF can trade Peterka for a RD, would BUF entertain 11OA, 12OA, Bryan Rust for Byram and 9OA? Rust replaces the production of Peterka and adds a leader in the room.

Cost to move up from 11 or 12 to 9 is roughly a 2nd. (Sabres got #43? last year to drop from 11 to 14)This is at least a mix. Roster player who can help them now and a nice future.
From a Penguins perspective, I would.Cost to move up from 11 or 12 to 9 is roughly a 2nd. (Sabres got #43? last year to drop from 11 to 14)
So, in terms of value: Penguins get Byram and a 2nd for Rust and 11?
Would you do that?
Byram is a young 2nd pair LD with upside that has to be paid immediately. No bargain contract years. Fair value on him, in my opinion, is Rust and a 1sr around 20OA.Pens get the best player and the best pick in the deal?
How could Buffalo possibly say no??

Pens are offering their 12OA instead, but want the equivalent value of a mid 2nd (moving up two spots) in return. Seems fair to me.

1.) Questionable. Adams desperately wants him to be.2 questions
1. Is Devon Levi still the goalie of the future
2. Are Luukkonens numbers last season regression, or just a bad team in front of him?

Him being young is basically all he has going for him. His performance in the NHL hasn't been very good.

If you ignore the Stanley Cup ring,
his numbers compared to other U24 defencemen and other defencemen with less than 250 games of NHL experience (both last season and historically),
his toolbox, and his intangibles and focus solely on his expected goal numbers away from Dahlin, you’re exactly right.
Bowen Byram: D is for Defense. The ES production was there but not so much without Dahlin. He isn’t dialed in as a PKer enough to help them shelter minutes for Dahlin (who they seem to want to use to his offensive strengths) or Power (who sucked on the PK) so they plugged him in behind Samuelsson on that unit just to have a body out there. The skating and offensive slashing pinches are top notch, dynamic, fun even. But he’s another guy who other than playing a full season for the first time ever didn’t really make strides. There are holes in his game. And if the demand for his contract are on par with the overpaid Power… see ya.
-Bryam: With Dahlin B/Away from Dahlin D. No sure what they do with him either resign or trade him.
Byram: C+. Hard to grade this guy. I'd be looking to trade him though. Again, though, would love to see him with better coaching.
Means nothing for how good of a player he is, especially today when he won a cup years ago.
Like I said, he's young and has played a lot in the NHL as a young player. That doesn't mean his performance has been good. Jack Johnson played a ton as a young NHLer and his results were also similarly shitty.
If you have to cling to "toolbox" and "intangibles" to say his performance in the NHL has been good, that just says his performance in the NHL hasn't been good.
From Sabres fans from a thread I found:
Player Discussion Thread 'Final Season Grades, Part 1: The Defense'
I've been sitting on some of this for a few days but here is part 1.
On Defense:
Marty Wilford: F as in f*** Off. Please take him and his oversized chin and fire them into the sun. No one he has worked with has markedly improved their game. I would assert that several key members of the unit have regressed season on season with him as their coach in Power and Samuelsson. The only player who has seemed to grow was Dahlin – the guy who was marked to be the next great defenseman, 1OA, who still has things in his game that need to be better. He cannot, must not return in any capacity and...

I'm not going to act like Byram is terrible, he clearly has tools and there is definitely upside there. But clinging to "he won a cup years ago on a different team", "he scores a lot compared to other U-24 defensemen" and "his intangibles" just shows how flimsy of a case you actually have for saying he has been good.
