Win just enough so everyone keeps their job.
The stated goal for the first time in five years was not .500 hockey.

Missing the playoffs five straight years cannot in any way lead to a sixth year. No one should stand for it. The media should be writing preemptive hit pieces on ownership. Fans should boycott. This kind of failure without action can’t be justified.

When you absolutely need a goal…and you send out…Dylan Cozens
He's literally allergic to scoring or even getting secondary assists at this point. The team basically just passed around and doesn't need him at all. What a loser he is ... I'd like to punch him the face to wake him up.

Probably their worst game since the massacre against Columbus last year

I was working. Which on a home game game-day in this town is f***ing ridiculous due to the number of people who come in for the game and then leave. I spent almost 75 minutes just trying to get around the university. Between the terrible Amerk game, the terrible Sabre game, and the shit of how work was going, I actually went to the local dive bar for a beverage.

Well I thought so, this is not a playoff team and the GM should have left a long time ago.

What is upsetting is that there are almost no signs of improvement from last season. All the same guys continue to make the same inexcusable mistakes and have shown no signs of learning to stop making them. Even worse is that their shitty record is much more shittier if you just look at in conference (4-9-1) and if you have a terrible in conference record you have zero chance of making the playoffs and will likely be out of the running by mid February. Not shit canning the ENTIRE staff after last season was a catastrophic mistake we are paying dearly for.

Gah. We're almost at the quarter point of the season already.

This upcoming 3-game west coast road trip is important. They really need to make a statement and get the season going again. I fear what will happen if they don't win 2 of 3.

And its too f***ing early in the season for it to be up in smoke already .

Don’t forget that the traditional dropdead date for being in a playoff position is Thanksgiving in the United States. If you’re on the outside at that point, you’re almost guaranteed to be on the outside at the end.

I’d appreciate the candor of one of the core guys coming out and saying, “We think we’re better and more talented than we really are. We consistently think it will be easy to beat middle of the pack teams and don’t start working against them until we’re already down by 2 or 3 goals.”

If you think about it, our core guys express as much with their actions time and time again. Behavior is a language.

On the other hand, I’d like to hear Ruff and Adams say it, especially Adams.

Yep. Usually 80% of the teams in a playoff spot at Thanksgiving remain there.

16 teams make the playoffs. 8 per conference. 20% of 8 is 1.6

So the Sabres are likely fighting for the 1.6 playoff spots still up for grabs.
