It's not even fun to make fun of the Sabres anymore. Their fans don't feel pain anymore.

Fish rots from the head. I'm old enough to remember when Bylsma was just what they needed w/ Cup experience... until he was the worst coach in the league.

And then when Housley was going to be great because he liked to activate the D. Until he became the worst coach in the league.

And when Kruger's professional experience was just what they needed. Until he was the worst coach in the league.

And when Granato was "Donny Meatballs" and just what they needed. Until he was the worst coach in the league.

Of all of those situations, Kruger was the only one who was truly worst in the league. Granato isn’t a BAD coach, he is just not suited for the team that doesn’t already know how to dig deep.

This hasn’t been a bad team for the past two seasons, they have been a team that has lacked somethjng that Granato couldn’t fill. Bylsma wasn’t the worst coach, he just didn’t mesh with the GM. Housley became pretty bad over time. Kruger was dreadful.

Another Sabre coach to the gallows. Granted, I do think it was deserved but it's becoming something of a meme at this point.

He had expectations going into the season but honestly Buffalo was a flawed team. I’m the end they finish outside the bottom 10 and within probably 6-7 points of the PO.

They need better quality vets than EJ, Okposo, Skinner as the veteran presence. Guys who can still contribute at a higher level and won playing at a high level vs be along for the ride.

Well, his work really went down hill the moment his dad took his EA Sports NHL 97 disk away and kicked him out of the basement. Pegula wasn't willing to pay the budget increase once the price of Doritos went up, that money was tied up in paying for 6 coaches.

It suggests that we held onto him for too long when he clearly didn’t know how to get this team to turn the corner. The roster is not hurting for talent. It’s hurting for identity and preparation. That’s 100% coaching.

The problem is we can't just instantly fire and replace the team. So what would you suggest we do? Stick with the bad coach just because there have been coaches before him?

Hanging your team's success on Devon Levi was always going to be a recipe for disaster. I don't know of many, if any, NCAA, let alone rookie goalies who were able to carry their team into the Playoffs in their first season. Even Roy was 23-18 with a .875 sv% in his rookie season (which they won a Cup), but it helps having 6+ HoF'ers on your team. Buffalo doesn't have any.

We have no way of knowing if that’s true or (if so) which parts of the roster are an issue because we haven’t seen the team play for a coach who demands structure and preparedness.
