Any McDavid chanting in the arena?

I wonder if he got the typical stupid questions from Buffalo reporters. Maybe it's good preparation.

Frankly as long as they draw 8k+ I dont see why they cant do more CHL games at the FNC during a long west or south swing. Consider it testing the market for either a CHL or USHL team if the USHL decides to move east. The lower bowl fits 12k right?

You do know probably 9,000-10,000 of that was there for McDavid right? They only draw 2,000-3,000 if it was a game without him. Still, I say try it out for a game - maybe there will be a great prospect for next season with Erie or Niagara or one who will play against either team and that team will be willing to move a home game to the FNC.

Yes, lowerbowl seats around that many - they didn't sell any 300 Level seats tonight.

Only one way to find out. It cant be any worse than the Toronto Bills experiment.

I was going to say we should just keep bringing in the top prospects...but we already had Eichel and Hanifan in a couple weeks ago.

Crosby did his damage in the Q though, which is typically a higher scoring league than the OHL or WHL.

In the McDavid thread on the prospects board someone posted the league scoring GPG averages for the Q during crosbys pre draft year and the OHL last year and the OHL now is slightly higher scoring than the Q was for Crosby. Not that it takes anything away from what either of them did/are doing.

Otters Offence Too Much For IceDogs - Niagara IceDogs Official Website - NiagaraIceDogs.net - Wednesday, October 22.

The Erie Otters high-powered offence was too much for the Niagara IceDogs to handle as they fell 8-4 Wednesday night at the First Niagara Centre in Buffalo. The first period featured a flurry of goals from both teams. Jordan Maletta and Cody Payne scored for the IceDogs, while Alex DeBrincat and Kurtis MacDermid each scored a pair for the Otters to give Erie a 4-2 lead after one.

The Otters struck twice more in the second thanks to goals from Patrick Murphy and Troy Donnay. After Murphy’s goal at the 12:51 mark, IceDogs goaltender Brent Moran made way for Buffalo native Stephen Dhillon. Moran made 19 saves before being pulled. Graham Knott made it 6-3 when he finished off a beautiful passing play early in the third period, but Connor McDavid answered right back for the Otters at 4:32 to make it 7-3. Shaun Bily and Maletta exchanged goals for good measure, but the IceDogs couldn’t mount the comeback.

They’re back in action tomorrow night as they host the Kingston Frontenacs at the Meridian Centre.

LIVE Game Blog - Niagara IceDogs vs Erie Otters - Niagara IceDogs Official Website - NiagaraIceDogs.net - Wednesday, October 22.

We’re here at the First Niagara Centre in Buffalo. I’m not going to lie, this is awesome. My first time ever in an NHL press box. There is expected to be over 10,000 people here tonight so the atmosphere will be electric. A lot of people are here for the Connor McDavid show. How about we make it the Niagara IceDogs show instead?

@ErieOtters - @cmcdavid97 -
'I'm not going to just let guys push me around out there.'
'It speaks to their love of hockey. Fans in Buffalo are great. If I'm fortunate enough to play here it would be unbelievable.'
'It's just going to play with your head' - on checking on Jack Eichel.

I was blown away by the speed at which MCDavid does just about everything. I saw Eichel play here a couple weeks ago and I don't think it is even close. McDavid will go #1 and let's just hope it is to Buffalo. The kid is incredible. McDavids best move came against a Dman, Vince Dunn who is projected to go in the second round. He didn't score on the play but it was a beauty as he slid the puck between Dunn's legs before he knew what was happening and easily skated around him and in on goal.
Strome had some good moments but did not stand out.
