Buffalo are 6-3 in the last three seasons against the Caps. They have 8, 7, 6, and 5-goal wins and a 4-goal OT loss in there.

Buffalo seems like one of those bad matchups for the Caps for whatever reason.
For their coach, he said the team enjoyed playing run and gun too much.

Gotta say I'm kinda glad they lost against Philthy or I would probably be tempted to fall into the trap of unreasonable hope by now.
I think every single coach who loses to the Sabres says “we played to their level” or “ we didn’t respect the game” or “we played their game instead of our game” or “we took the night off”
Not we played good and just got outplayed. Not wow what a game plan they had, not sometimes you just got to tip your hat
